1. Bad news first? Teagan’s ear drum burst Sunday night. Through the tube. He started complaining around bath time when it was time to put his ear plugs in. By the time his bath was over he was a screaming mess. He’s not a complainer (sounds like a good thing but it really is not, it’s hard to tell when something is going wrong when he doesn’t complain). We called our pedi who ok’d some ear drops and we gave him some motrin and put him to bed. He woke up constantly until around midnight when he walked into our room with a smile and a “hey”….uhm, ok?! We had every intention of heading to the Zilker Kite Festival in Austin this weekend and the kids (especially Taryn) were super psyched about it. Unfortunately, Teagan has had a rough weekend, we’ve had to increase his asthma meds and he’s still just not doing very well. He scares me. I feel like I’m constantly worrying, watching, listening, hovering….waiting. For him to be sick. And for him to be better. Teagan’s breathing was pretty good this morning so we decided that instead of facing the crowds at Zilker, we’d stay closer to home just in case he took a turn for the worse. I’ve been struggling with Taryn for a few weeks now. Her routine is changing and out of whack. Whining has been increasingly worse. Naps are dwindling. She’s tired. I’m tired. One word….demanding. I feel like there is always a demand, something she needs right this moment but before I can meet that need, she’s demanded something else. That’s not to say she is impolite, quite the opposite, I say demanding because there is always an urgency, I’m hungry right now, I need that right away, and then I need this and this and this. 1. SO glad friday is here. This week was totally craptastic. Truly, it was. A broken vehicle remedied by trading it in. A broken dishwasher remedied by a service call amounting to $125 for less than 15 minutes of service time. One extremely onery 4 year old. One 12 year old who is struggling in 3 classes and had one week (this week) to pull the grades up just under the wire. We did it though. And I do me ‘WE’. One kid in urgent care for the better part of Sunday. Same kid took a fall yesterday at the dino park and landed in the ER with a severed/sliced tongue (ouch!) and a big fat lip.

1. 10 on Tuesday = late, but hey, that’s just how this week is rolling.

2. We bought a new to us car minivan Monday night. I never ever ever ever ever ever thought I’d see the day that my husband would own a minivan. But that day is here and dare I say whisper ::::he loves it too:::: It makes sense for our family.

3. I think it’s pretty funny that instead of a “Swaggerwagon”, Jase calls ours a “Slackerwagon”.

4. Taryn, however, calls it “The TV Car”. The first time she got in it she was giddy with a side of evil laugh.
