I got to meet up with the cutest little family for a maternity session tonight. I have been doing so many early morning sessions lately, it was such a treat to get to play with the gorgeous evening light….and doesn’t she look gorgeous!? I can’t wait to meet their new little one in just a few weeks!
Six month olds are one of my absolute favorite ages to photograph. They are always so happy, but not yet mobile enough to get away from me. I love that it doesn’t take much to get eye contact and this age is soooo expressive, a photographer’s dream! I’ve always said that if you are going to splurge on custom portraits of your child, there is no better time than as a newborn (before 14 days) and at 6 months (sitting well but not fully crawling). It’s a small window on both accounts, but so, so worth it!!!!
And this little miss was no exception! It was a little cold this morning, but she was a champ, is she cute or what?!?! […]

when i told her how much i love her curly hair i was informed she doesn’t really have curly hair, she slept in pink foam rollers and oh man did that bring back some memories of being a little girl. those things were so uncomfortable and trying to find just the right position to lay your head so you could fall asleep was next to impossible. but it didn’t matter though, when you have straight, thin hair, there is nothing more exciting than to see your hair all bouncy the next morning. who needs sleep when […]

we woke up to ice this morning, not something that happens every day down here. all the schools started 2 hours late to give the sun some time to work it’s magic and melt the ice.

so this past weekend, MC accompanied me on the call for models shoot in downtown austin. for those that don’t know, MC is a local that i mentor. the term mentor is used loosely because i really stink at teaching….but we have fun together and she’s making great progress despite my horrid teaching skills. we hadn’t been out shooting together for a few months due to busy season, holidays, etc. so when she asked if she could go on the model shoot, i was thrilled. i was even more thrilled when we were walking downtown and she asked if we could stop for a minute and shoot in full sun….yeah buddy….that’s my girl!!! i was so proud. so we talked […]
