After naps today Taryn and Teagan were in the playroom, I went to the bathroom and when I came back, I couldn’t find Teagan.  He has his favorite spots in the house so I hit those first with no luck.  As I was walking through the kitchen I spotted him, spoon left over from lunch, clutched in his hand (yes, it was still on the floor), waiting, just like this.  Thankfully my camera was on the counter.  You can practically hear him….”mom, i’m not amused, put the camera down and get me some cheerios”.

i’m a doggie. bark bark.

We hear this at least 20 times a day.  No exaggeration. It’s not the sound of a bark, it’s the word “bark”.  This has been going on for at least 6 months, probably longer.  Her imagination and the ways she uses being a dog, never cease to amaze me, she’s a smart cookie doggie.

Anyway, yesterday, I had plans to take Ty and Taryn off shopping while Jase stayed home with Teagan so he could nap.  Ty decided not to go, which suprised me.  When Taryn and I got back, we found out why.  He built our little doggie a dog house.  How sweet is he?!  Gosh I just love him.

I’m not sure if I will be able to articulate my feelings in to this post, but I will try.  Photographing births is such an amazing experience, I get to document a life changing right before my eyes, a first breath, the first moments of a new family, with pain, joy, and so many other emotions mixed inbetween.  Every single time I photograph one, it brings me to a place in my heart that realizes what this world, what life, is about.  It also brings me to a place that makes me realize that what I do, makes sense.  Of all the things people capture with photography, all the milestones, the ‘i do’s”, the beloved snapshots, the gathering of family, […]

My last official session of 2008 is finished and what a way to top off the year.  A huge thank you to this little guys family for being so, so patient in waiting for me to work through my computer / hard drive issues to be able to properly proof their sneak peek!  Just 5 days new here and so dreamy….

Congrats again on your new addition V family!

In the coming days I plan to go back and showcase some of the wonderful familes and children I’ve photographed during this busy season.  I get so busy I sometimes forget to come back and share more of my faves.

A big thank you to Lucy’s parents for allowing me to share their birth experience, birth is an intimate experience and it takes a lot to put yourself out there.  Big kudos to you guys!  I love these images.  I’m thankful they love them too and that they are allowing me to share them.  I hope these images capture their day, Lucy’s day.  I hope they capture how beautiful, and faith filled this family is.

I would like to introduce you to Lucy.  I had the incredible honor to witness and document her birth on Tuesday.   I look at this image and I just marvel at the miracle of life, how precious it is, how fragile it is, and how in one moment, everything changes, your heart fills up in spaces you never knew existed.  I feel so lucky to do what I do.  To have captured this moment for her, for her parents, for their amazing doctor.  The smile in his eyes says it all.  He loves his job,  he loves this moment.  I look at this image and it reminds me how much […]
