CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi! We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure. Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states! Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks! Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures. We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter. 2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys. 2021 we hopped around the east coast. 2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest. We visited our 48th state in early 2023! We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina. 2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm. In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

party party

My mom threw us a going away party this weekend, it was so great to just relax with family and friends and visit. A little sad, but fun and we had some great food! I took a few shots, not many, but I think this one is my favorite…Little T hanging out with my mom. I love to see how happy they are when they are together… Thank you Mom, we love you!!

house drama

We’ve been dealing with all kinds of stress and drama regarding the sale of our home. No fun. At all. We think we have things worked out with the buyers, we hope. We should know more soon. I won’t go into all the gory details, well, because it’s just way too long and twisted. But it looks like our closing has been pushed back a week, we think. Thankfully, our builder in Austin was willing to work with us on the closing date and we didn’t lose the new house or our kickin interest rate. This will give us an extra week to spend time with our family here, to finish packing and for Jason to secure a job there, […]

thank you

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, comments and emails! Yesterday was a lot of fun. Before we left the house I told Taryn we were going to see the pictures of the baby in my belly. She ran up to me, lifted my shirt and said "look through da belly button?" =) Honestly, we all thought our baby was a girl, so we’re still in a bit of shock! I was worried about the tech letting us all in the room but she did. And I’m so glad my mom got to be there with us too. The ultrasound tech did all her normal measurements and everything looks good and healthy, due date is right on track. […]

Big Ultrasound

Tomorrow is the big day and we couldn’t be more excited to see our little one and see how he or she is doing. I thought it would be fun to do a little poll before we ((hopefully)) find out the gender of our little one tomorrow afternoon… Polls – Take Our Poll Thanks for voting and I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon with the results! =)

one of my first…

…and the last. Charli and her family have been with me since the very beginning, when I first started building my portfolio. It’s been a long, fun ride filled with great memories. It all started with Addy on the blue chair jut a few months old. We’ve celebrated Halloween, put Addy and her friends in flower pots, Christmas, Colin’s birthday, Addison’s birthday , she splashed in the tub, and so, so much more. It’s been a total joy for me to get to be a part of it all! Yesterday we hung out in Old Town Slidell, took the kids to the park, played in the water jets and even hit the ice cream shop. I can’t honestly think of a […]

packing

Totally overwhelmed. How 4 people, who had not much more than the clothes on their backs 2 years ago can have soooooo much stuff, is beyond me. The house is slowly turning into a wonderland of boxes, tape, markers, bubble wrap and wide open spaces perfect for playing ball and riding trikes. 12 days and counting. No new job yet for Jase. Three interviews, but no news. Living apart until things fall into place will be hard, so, so hard.

a surprise

Little T is finally getting the hang of the tricycle she got for her birthday, although she’s much better at going backwards SUPER FAST! ((Little Einsteins syle)) =) And a little funny story from yesterday…. My mom has been helping out picking up Ty from school since he gets out right smack dab in the middle of T’s naptime and we just didn’t feel safe with him being on the bus this year. Well they have their routine down pat, pick up, snack, errands then home. Sometimes they will pick up a little snack surprise for Taryn too. Yesterday, Taryn was waking up just before Ty got home and she and I were laying on the bed chatting as she […]

what 4 shiny “monies” will get me…

This is the…"Mommy I am so stinkin tired of your camera, this is sooooo boring, I wish I was doing something else, I have a bad case of PCS (Photographer’s Child Syndrome) and it shows" look… and the "I’m really loosing my patience mommy" look… But wait! I see a BRIBE in mommy’s hand! See it!? Right there!!! …contemplating her next move to gain possession of the "monies"… AH-HA! I’ll give her some kickin eye contact with a cute pose and she’ll give me the monies! LOL!…..counting her hard earned loot….4 shiny quarters =) and I have to add this one too….just because I love the chubbies 😉 Thanks for stopping in!

you know your day will be interesting…

…when one of the first things you do after getting out of bed is pull underwear out of a bowl of cereal. No kidding. After Jason and Ty left for work and school this morning I walked into the kitchen to fix Taryn breakfast. Imagine my complete and total bewilderment when I spotted a bowl with underwear in it sitting on the counter. Confused and not totally awake yet, I realize that the bowl is half filled with cereal, half filled with Ty’s undies. My first thought…."what the heck do they do in the mornings?!?!" My second instinct was to gag, thanks to the never ending bout of all day morning sickness, the sight grossed me out, bad. One very […]

caught ’em!

I just can’t resist posting this shot….I don’t think I caught those little dipples close up, I still have a few shots to sort through, but if you look really close you can see ’em here….

Alexis

Guess who I got to hang out with today? Yup, Miss Alexis! I requested to do a special model session with her at the beginning of the summer and man did time just fly by. I promised her Mommy that I would do the session before we move and we were down to one of our last weekends here. We’ve had to move it around and reschedule several times so thankfully her Mommy is really patient!! We had a lot of fun and Alexis is the most cooperative 2 year old ever! And guess who we ran into at the park?! My other little buddy and model from this summer, Philip, he and his daddy were chillin on the swings […]

little gifts

I got the best little gift today….little flutters of movement from the inside. I love it, I love the feeling of life, a little, "Hey mommy, I’m here" reminder. At 16 weeks pregnant, and still really sick every day, it was just the little bit of happy that I needed to keep me going. Morning sickness went away with Taryn at 14 weeks and Ty at 16 weeks. Every day before I open my eyes, I think to myself "today is the day I’m going to feel better". So far it hasn’t happened yet, but I haven’t lost hope yet. For awhile I really thought we were having a boy, but now I’m not so sure, maybe it’s a girl?….we […]

go ducks

This is seriously one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time! Y’all gotta watch this! =)

cookie monster

I somehow managed to pull myself into the kitchen today (morning sickness has made me avoid the kitchen at all costs due to the smells) for a little baking with Taryn. She LOVES making cookies and as usual, jumped right in. It made me miss Ty being at home during the day, but he participated plenty in the eating of the cookies when he got home from school =) I love chubby little toddler hands We didn’t quite get the rolling it into a ball thing right 😉 Maybe this girl needs some play-doh?? Exhibit A Can you tell which were hers and which were mine? =) Licking her fingers wasn’t cutting it and before I could catch her she […]
