CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

furious, angry…..hurt

I hate irresponsible dog owners.  Harsh statement?  Yes, but today it’s true. Ty was outside playing after school today, down the street, playing hide and seek with a friend, standing in the cal-d-sac, when a dog started to chase him, attacked and bit him from behind while he was trying to run away, right in the back of his knee.  A dog that is someones pet, a dog not on a leash or being properly supervised.  Ty, of course was in immediate pain and his friend helped chase the dog away down the street.  Ty started to head home and heard someone outside calling for their dog, but never caught a glimpse of them. When he got home he was […]

my new site

FINALLY!  YAY!!!! I bought it 8 months ago, worked on it in spurts, did a lot of market research, put in a ton of hours on it, and it’s finally ready!  I am so proud of it and soooo excited!  My old site was in sad shape, it hadn’t been updated in a year and then only once since I bought the 5D.  The new site, well, it just feels like "me". It may be a little slow loading and a few of the images might be a little fuzzy, I’m still working out some glitches, but I was just too excited to not share it. So with a big drum roll and a "TaDa"…. LIFE IN MOTION PHOTOGRAPHY Oh, […]

TOP 10

Happy New Year!!! I did this last year and thought it would be fun to do it again.  I decided to do a top 10 personal favorites (I’ll post those tomorrow) and a separate top 10 for client favorites.  I had sooooo many amazing clients this year and going through all the images brought back so many memories.  Thank you for letting me capture a small part of your 2007!  So here goes…in no particular order… Sweet, sweet Julianne…such an amazing family, she was soooo easy to photograph, until the very last shot of the day when she flipped me the bird to tell me she was done LOL! the adorable Ms. Alexis triplets!!! My little buddy Philip and Jayden, […]

Christmas – Part 2

Yup, even more snapshots….. T was totally dazed and confused when we woke her up Christmas morning.  Ty was ready to go and we put it off for a bit, but eventually had to wake Taryn up…. She warmed up a little bit when we brought her stocking filled with goodies to her… Ty on the other hand was raring to go.  This is the one and only shot I got of them coming out….he literally ran by!LOL He cracks me up…with his new RipStick.Little T LOVED her new piano – we’ve been treated to many songs in the last few days! ribbit ribbit and the damage…yikes! So somehow, right before Christmas, we managed to find a Wii.  It was […]

Christmas Eve – Part 1

Ready for snapshot overload???? I’m determined this year to actually go through our Christmas photos because last year, I threw them into a folder on my hard drive and never took a second look (shame on me, I know). We had a blast on Christmas Eve, Jason’s parents, grandparents and brother got here early in the evening and it was so much fun!  Little T giving our front yard snowman a hug… Ty’s version of the hug looks a little more like a headlock… There is something I love about this one, the behind the scenes of a posed shot being taken by Jason’s mom.  I love how you can see their arms around one another… Don’t ask me what […]

a collective sigh

Just like that, four days buzzed right by, and she’s gone.  For the rest of the day today, we’ll all four mope around and be sad, but tomorrow we start counting down to the next visit.  We had a great time, we played and talked and read books and went to the park and played some more.  I think the hardest part of saying goodbye today was knowing the next time I see her, I’ll be the mother of three, and that event will happen without her by my side. I took soooooo many pictures over the last week, our Christmas Eve and morning with Jason’s side of the family and then a ton more once my mom arrived.  I’ll […]

Merry Christmas

I figure it’s pretty safe to post our Christmas card today as most people on our list should have received them by now.  I love Jason, he’s such a character and so much fun.  For what it’s worth, this took zero convincing, he insisted this image, which was an out take from our shoot with he and Taryn, make the card this year instead of the kids!  He cracks me up! Here’s hoping you had a great Christmas!!

mmmmmm

Got up early this morning….so much still to do!  T and I decided to make homemade applesauce around 7 am while the boys slept.  She washed, I peeled, we both mixed.  It’s been simmering all morning.  Our house just smells heavenly, a mix of apples, cinnamon and the sugar cookies we baked.  mmmmmmmmm Now the house is quiet except for some Christmas music playing….Jase took the kids down to the neighborhood park in their santa hats.  A nice little break for this mommy, who had a little tooooooo much help in the kitchen there for awhile LOL! Merry Christmas everyone!

my holiday

It officially feels like Christmas!  Today is Ty’s first day of holiday from school for a fabulous 15 days!!  I love it, having him home, fixing the kids breakfast together, watching them snuggle first thing in the morning and the best part, I get to sleep at least an extra 30-40 minutes a day.  I totally dig that.  An extra thirty minutes to a pregnant woman is like 2 hours to someone else!  LOL!  And no standing out in the driveway waiting on the school bus in the dark, freezing cold.  No homework battles, no folders to sign, no remembering to send in lunch money.  Hmmmm, the way I talk you’d think his time off school was about meeee!  😉 […]

clone version 2

Thank you all SO MUCH for all your wonderful comments for Calla’s birth slideshow!  I can’t even begin to tell you how great it makes me feel that they moved you and to hear the images made you feel like you were there, were moved to tears, or brought you back to your own birth experience, is the best compliment EVER!  Thank you!!!!! And I’ve gotta give props to Anne Marie….I’m sure it’s not easy to allow yourself to be photographed while you are in pain and in such a vulnerable state.  But then to let all of us in blog world share in their experience, that rocks!  Jase and I are still undecided if we will have the birth […]

the birth of calla mae

A big thank you to Anne Marie who is allowing me to share this.  I can't say it enough, amazing [...]

moments old

I’m still amazed I got to witness the birth of this beautiful baby girl….isn’t she just perfect? I just finished proofing all the images and can’t wait to show Anne Marie!  Here are a few more favorites…

Calla

I got the call from my friend Anne Marie this morning to be on standby because she believed she was in active labor and it was time for her to head to the hospital.  She decided to give it another hour.  When that hour was up I got another call, she and Bryan were in the car on the way to the hospital!  Yay!!! I grabbed my camera and took off. Calla arrived at 2:36 pm and weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz.  Mommy and baby are doing great!   I am still reeling from the day and beyond honored that they asked me to photograph their daughter’s birth.  It was such an amazing experience.   I can’t wait to […]

busy

It’s been a crazy couple of days!  We had an ultrasound this week, I’d love to share photos of our little guy but we don’t own a scanner.  I wonder if a photo of a photo would work??  Our ultrasound tech was pretty rude, and at one point I think Jason thought I was going to take her sonogram wand off my belly and tell her to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine, but I refrained.  I wanted to see more of our little guy and tried to ignore her.  We got to see his little profile, he had the hiccups during part of the ultrasound and we got a great show of him reaching down playing with his […]
