CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi!  We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure.  Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states!  Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks!  Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures.  We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter.  2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys.  2021 we hopped around the east coast.  2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest.  We visited our 48th state in early 2023!  We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina.  2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm.  In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

hanging out

Just chillin in his dresser today.  Jason giggled when he saw this and I think he wonders where I will photograph Teagan next.

crazy texas weather

I glanced up from doing dishes this morning and spotted this… It kind of reminds me of this oldie but goodie.  She’s grown so much! Yesterday it was freezing, today it’s nice, tomorrow it will be freezing and rainy again.  I know this, not because I actually have time to watch the weather or even really look outside to see for myself, but because McGee is a good friend, she gives me the weather report AND reminds me what day it is!  LOL!  Her friendly weather report prompted me to open up the house this morning 😉  Crazy Texas weather, I just can’t get used to it.  I guess I should be thankful we were able to let in a […]

books

She loves books more than anyone I know.  Now Ty, he loves to read, but Taryn, she loves books.  Big, little, doesn’t matter, she just loves books.  She sorts them, carries them around from room to room and will stop anywhere it suits her, to take her time, and look through them. I’ve wanted to catch a shot like this for awhile now….I saw one similar to it awhile back, but can’t remember where I saw it or who took it, but I was inspired.  I tried out a new action on it, different for me, but do you think it works?

little man

has been finding his fingers more and more.  When he does, he gets so excited, he just grunts and goes to town, it’s so funny! and I just can’t get enough of his sweet little feet…

here we go!

Soccer is in full swing, as of the crack of dawn this morning.  Ty played from the time he was 4 until he was 7, took the year off that Jason and I got married since he would be in Hawaii for 3 weeks of the season and then the league had trouble due to hurricane katrina the following year.  Now that we’ve moved to Austin, it feels good to be back out there again, watching the games, cheering Ty on (which Taryn LOVES), the grass stains, the orange slices, sitting in our little fold-out chairs, just the whole experience.  Fun stuff, for all of us, but especially Ty, he’s totally psyched about it! As tough as it was to […]

overwhelmed

Being the mother of 3 is more overwhelming than I imagined it would be.  Still in my pj’s from this morning, its sad to admit that.  Tired, cranky, overwhelmed, worried.  Oh how I wish I could sleep so peacefully… Teagan had a few more choking incidents late last night.  It’s so scary.  He’s still so tiny.  I just need to stare at him and watch him breathe.  Taryn is acting out.  Big time.  I miss my sweet, loving, cuddlebug, little girl.  I hope she returns soon. Ty starts soccer season first thing tomorrow morning, bright and early. So thankful its Friday, and that Jase will be home all weekend long. Oh, and today was my due date.  I’m happy to […]

lock up your daughters

there’s a ladies man on the loose 😉 And do you see ’em???  At the bottom…little chubbies on his legs!  Love Love Love em!

Seriously?! Now!?

Taryn has decided it’s the perfect time to potty train.  This morning she decided to kick it into high gear.  While I’m proud of her, the selfish, oh so tired and exhausted mommy in me is screaming "Seriously?!  Now!?"  We have put it off for awhile for several reasons.  First, she wasn’t showing all the signs of being ready.  Second, our pediatrician recommended we wait until things settled in around our house due to the move and arrival of the new baby.  I guess she doesn’t need any more time to settle in, but I sure feel like I do.  Oh well, I guess I can focus on the silver lining, I’ll have less diapers to change….that’ll get me through […]

little guy, big world

Our little guy faced the big, cold, bold world today.  Ok, so that’s a little dramatic, we just took our new double stroller out for a spin to the neighborhood playground with Little T.  Still, the playground can be harsh!  Ok, so that might be a little dramatic too.  Especially since he slept through the entire event and never even noticed we left the house!  HA!  Regardless, it did me good to get out of the house. Love this one of Taryn too.  I love the lighting by our front door.

this one makes me go “awwwwwww”

Taryn is starting to warm up a little to Teagan.  She’s stopped running and hiding under the furniture with her ears covered when he cries.  Instead she’ll drop what she’s doing and go running to "check on our baby".  She loves that she can be the pacifier police and make sure he has one if he needs it.  She’s only tried to shove it up his nose once, so I think we’ll go ahead and call it progress 😉

I survived.

Day 1 of being on my own with the kids.  Nervous?  Yes.  Three kids going three different directions and only one set of hands….that should make anyone nervous right?  I was either brave or crazy when I scheduled Teagan’s 2 week checkup for my first day on my own, but it went good.  I begged Jason to not leave me alone with them, but he insisted he had to go to work.  Not before he snickered under his breathe that the children would likely eat me alive though.  Humph.  So, I decided to go in prepared….I was determined to out smart our toddler, who, by the way, has been very demanding and on edge here lately.  My plan of action?  […]

moving along

I've been itching to get back to a more real life, photo of the day, feel to my blogging.  The [...]

2 weeks old

What we’ve figured out in a mere 14 days… He’s an eater.  He eats, and eats, and eats.  I secretly love it (although I’d forgotten just how exhausting it is to nurse a newborn). He’s a grunter.  He’s a loud little baby, he grunts all the time.  For no particular reason other than to just grunt. He’s taking after his sister in being born with dark hair, then loosing it to be replaced with a lighter variety. He’s a snuggler.  It melts my heart when his little hand reaches up for my finger to hold onto while nursing. His favorite spot to hang out in the house is on our bed, he loves to sit and gaze at the artwork […]

the last

Taryn has always been Little T, or just T or "Peanut"…just pick one and she’ll come running.  We don’t actually call Ty "Big T"….but I love this just the same. and then of course, there is… That’s the front of the shirts, but the best part is one the back… My favorite. And a few out takes.  The big one and the little one broke out in dance mid session =) Shake it baby, shake it! Throwing this one in too, just because I love it… Thanks Mom for helping me with the shirts!  I think they are hilarious! I’m still trying to deal with the fact that Teagan is our last baby.  I’m happy with 3, but knowing this […]
