CURRENTLY WANDERING

Hi! We are a God loving family: Jason, Lyndsay, Ty, Taryn, Jude, Jonah and Zachary. In 2017 we sold our 2,400 square home in Leander, Texas, along with most of our belongings and bought a 400 square foot fifth wheel RV to hit the road and travel full time with 4 of our 5 kids and 2 dogs (Maggie and Pepper). We longed for a more simple life with less stuff and more adventure. Our goal is to eventually visit all 50 states! Our bucket list is long and we love adventure, hiking and national parks! Lyndsay is a professional family travel photographer and loves capturing all their family adventures. We hope you’ll follow along on our journey!

WHERE TO NEXT?

We left Texas late 2017 and went to Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. In 2018 we hit the southwest, west coast and pacific northwest before looping back down to Texas for the fall and winter. In 2019 we meandered up the east coast, jumping up to Michigan and across to Maine before heading back to Texas for winter. 2020 landed us quarantining in Alabama before heading out Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Winter in 2020 took us to Texas, Alabama and Florida, including the Keys. 2021 we hopped around the east coast. 2022 was spent in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before we did the “wiggle down the middle” through the midwest. We visited our 48th state in early 2023! We spent 2023 on the East coast including Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts and North Carolina. 2024 brought us back to the west, Taryn graduated high school in Moab, was an extra on The Chosen TV series and we spent our summer in Colorado where she was an intern learning how to farm. In 2025 we are headed to Washington state to serve the church.

10 on Tuesday, er, uhm, Wednesday

I was gonna do this yesterday but got a little distracted by a little thing like winning a trip to Jamaica!! Yeah baby! Thank you all for your comments, yesterday was a complete blast!! 1. Ty now 100% truly and honestly believes he is famous. But, he was not happy I taped him on the sly and bargained for use of it here on the blog. He could have asked for much more on his side of the bargain, I got what I wanted pretty easy. I think his reaction was priceless. WE WON! And we are THRILLED!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all who voted!! I’m so proud of Ty, award winning at the age of 10!! He rocks! You can see the announcement here. We’re still in disbelief! When I found out both Taryn and Teagan were napping so I did a huge and quiet happy dance right in the middle of the living room! Then I started speed dialing family! cuddle bugs

They are. Look at his little hand on her arm…and her arm cuddling over his belly. Love em. He laughed out loud today for the first time. First with Jase, he had to work for it, apparently, imitating a speedboat is pretty darn funny. But right before bed tonight, Taryn was playing with the sock monkey, Teagan took one look at her and belted out a big old belly laugh. So big, his head fell backwards in laughter. Pure joy, so stinkin cute. And T’s face lit up from the inside out. I loved her reaction as much as I enjoyed hearing his big belly laugh. Uhm, when did this happen?

I’m not sure, but I wasn’t looking. It sneaks up on you, because I’d swear just yesterday he was a tiny baby, cuddled in my arms, just like Teagan. Then WHAM-O, he’s 11. Without a doubt, he makes me feel old. Can’t wait for his party! Ok, I gotta tell you guys about taking these pics. I decided early yesterday morning was a good time to go and we’d likely have the pool to ourselves. So Ty and I head down to the pool by ourselves and I’m taking a few shots. A testament to my laziness

Remember this…I couldn’t forget about re-doing this shot all together. But I also couldn’t bring myself to iron, so I ditched the pretty (wrinkled) euro pillows. Yeah, I’m pretty lazy. And hey, do you know where lazy people like to hang out?? JAMAICA!! How ya like that segway 😉 TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO VOTE! I’ve put off doing these shots since we moved into our new because I stink at indoor backlighting. The only window is a large one right behind our garden tub. Mentoring

I can’t believe I forgot to tell you guys this! After a lot of thought I’ve decided to take on being a mentor. To be perfectly honest, I’ve received a lot of requests over the last few years for this kind of thing, and it always makes me giggle a little on the inside. I’ve just never been sure I had much to offer, I mean, there are experts for this sort of thing, and I am certainly no expert. Tons of people know way more about photography than I do. He steals my heart at least 1 million times a day. I hold him and cuddle him every spare minute during the day and as soon as he’s down for the night I miss him and can’t wait to see his sweet little face… sigh….isn’t he dreamy?

Our house is all a buzz over the Bump Contest. Ty is psyched! Sooooooo excited about his photograph making the Top 10. Oh wow! Check this out!

I didn’t even know! Click Here….see anyone you know?!? I had totally forgotten I had even submitted the image awhile back, I’d done it on a whim one afternoon and hadn’t thought about it since, well, cause, you know we’ve been a little busy! Ty took the photo of Taryn and I – he’s gonna be psyched when he finds out we’re a FINALIST!! The grand prize is a trip to Jamaica!!! Yeah baby, momma needs a vacation like you can’t even imagine! Compliments of Ty. I made he and I a late breakfast this morning after everyone else had eaten. I walked away to check on something and when I came back, I found a little happy in my bowl… A little history….my mom gave us the wonderful gift of maid service for 3 months after the baby was born (uh, best gift EVER!). They stopped coming a few weeks ago and I must have mentioned a few times how much I miss our maids because Ty proposed to my mom that he give up one of his birthday gifts this year if we could re-hire the maids.
