breakfast with bedhead

By |August 7th, 2007|

I miss my camera.  I really do.  I’m so tired and so sick.  I’m ready to reach the end of the 24/7 gag fest that has invaded my life.  I find myself wanting to sleep all the time, because it’s the only time I’m not focused on how awful I feel.  I can’t think about food, it makes me sick.  For some reason the gagging has become a source of laughter for the other members of this family.  And if I’m in a decent mood, I sometimes laugh along with them.  It really is ridiculous. Now that Taryn has her own table and chairs, it’s been a challenge to get her to eat in her highchair.  She does really well […]

you guessed it….

even more house pics….sorry, I know you guys must be getting tired of them by now! Sigh….my photo wall is gone 🙁 the view when you walk through the front door – we have a raised foyer – see our new fireplace??  We have a pretty wood carving to go above it with two candles… here is a pic of the old fireplace, the new one looks so much nicer but man was it an unexpected expense!  We found out during reconstruction that our fireplace was bent in the middle from handling 195 mph wind for hours on end…. the dining room (it’s on the opposite side of the den in the addition the previous owners added to the house) […]

goofy kids

By |August 3rd, 2007|

Last night I was soooo tired from working on the house all day, I was ready to crash.  Seems like lately when I’m ready to go to bed at the same time as the kids, they just jump in bed with me and we all snuggle and fall asleep.  I secretly love it.  Taryn isn’t used to sleeping next to Ty, Ty means playtime, but for the first few nights she did good, didn’t bat an eye.  Until last night.  We’re laying there, lights out, all sweet and snuggly.  Then all of a sudden I hear "OW – Taryn!  Get your toe out of my eye!"  Of course Taryn then starts to giggle, which makes Ty giggle.  Then Ty asks […]

more house pics

Are you guys sick of me talking about house stuff yet??  I’m sure the answer is yes!  We are so tired of being consumed by it too.  We’ve been working non-stop to get the house ready to show.  So many little details that sneak up on you, like the sudden necessity to iron 22 sheers for the house.  We’re at the point where the last bit of mess tends to rotate from room to room.  Our long list of things to do is down to one page at least!  I can’t wait until it’s 100% done, all this work and morning sickness just don’t mix. Here is what we are calling the "Mock Nursery".  We decided to clean this room […]

the best news ever

By |July 31st, 2007|

Two weeks ago my OB did an ultrasound and determined our little one wasn’t growing as expected.  The peanut was behind by a good 10-11 days.  We knew our conception days were right on, so that wasn’t the issue.  It was a long, scary two weeks.  I was under strict orders to take it easy, no stress, put my feet up and take it easy.  I did the best I could.  Jason took over handling all the house stuff, Ty helped with Taryn a lot, helped keep her busy during the day and I rested as much as I could.  Our OB was worried, very worried, and so were we.  Today was our follow up ultrasound, and after a long […]

701 days

By |July 31st, 2007|

701 days of worry. 701 days of work. 701 days of stress. She changed our lives in ways we never imagined.  We went through a lot in our first year of marriage, a new baby, Ty’s adoption, Katrina stole everything but our health, thankfully we have that.  Thankfully, we were young and able.  Able to rebuild.  Able to find the strength in our marriage to make it through.  Able to lean on one another when we needed to.  Able to put on a brave face for the sake of our children when they needed it. We’re done.  The house is done.  No more construction, no more working into the night or having people working in our home.  No more living […]
