Baby Watch

What a long 24 hours it has been.  I started having contractions last night.  Last night they weren’t too bad.  Strong enough to make me stop and they took my breath away.  But they weren’t super regular so I didn’t put much thought in to them.  We were busy prepping our new curriculum for Taryn last night that we started today, so I had a lot of distraction.  We got done pretty late, I took a warm bath, had some chamomile and lavender tea and tried to sleep.  Unsuccessfully.  But I tried.  I think the best sleep I got was between 6 and 6:45 am when I needed to get up for the day.  I woke up with a lego […]

It’s a bit surreal, this one going to a high school homecoming.  And with a curfew of midnight for the first time ever.  Letting go, even in tiny bits and pieces, is really hard.  Time flies….and man has he grown!  It makes my momma heart swoon to see him all dressed up and in clothes that actually fit him instead of a football t-shirt and gym shorts.  Very, very proud of him.  I did offer to chaperone the dance, break out my waddle and move and groove my big old 9 month pregnant belly on the dance floor.  Surprisingly, he declined that generous (ha!) offer.

The shared nursery.  I think if I had to come up with one word to describe it, I’d choose…..intentional.  That might seem like an odd choice for a nursery but it is true.  In the past I’ve put months and months in to designing and creating the perfect nursery for the other kids.  Especially Jude and Taryn.  Walk down memory lane?  Jude’s nursery here.  Taryn’s here.  For each, it was a room of their own and not a shared space.  Beyond that, we didn’t put much thought in to what was in the room outside of aesthetics.  This room was a whole new ball game, both being a shared […]
