jesse & woody

These two are something else.  Partners in crime.  Duder was not in the mood for photos and spent most of our time yelling “no!”  The only smiles and moderate cooperation were thanks to Taryn hiding behind me and popping up to surprise him. I love my sassy Jesse and my grouchy little Woody.

But thankfully, even after a really rough night for Teagan last night, he had a much better day and we all had a blast today.  A few things I always want to […]

kindergarten

I took these the week before Taryn started school.  I’m so, so glad that I did.  I was “this” close to putting them on the back burner but now I’m so happy we did this.  My girl had a really rough start to school and kindergarten, we totally didn’t even see it coming, it hit us like a brick wall.  She is now thriving and doing very well.  We couldn’t be more proud of her, all that she has learned, all that she has overcome in just a few short months.  It has been quite the adjustment but with the help of a good friend, we can now stop to look at the kid she was before, and the […]

1.   My sweet husband turns 33 today.  Happy Birthday Jase!

2.  He got P90X for his birthday and I have a feeling we’re about to get our butts kicked.  Ty, Jason and I have all lost weight with all the changes at our house (me 29 lbs, Jase 25ish and Ty 30ish) and we want to run with it.

3.  The little kids are actually gaining weight.  I swear I did a happy dance right there in our pediatricians office.  Duder is still in the same clothes he was in last fall and has been between 26 and 28 lbs for well over a year.  We are thankful he didn’t loose much while being sick but for he and Taryn to actually […]

busy is good…

I was unloading the van after my session this morning and I realized how telling this scene was.  I live in my van this time of year.  I do a lot of driving no matter where I am shooting because we live so far out.  I don’t mind it much, time in the car alone is just that, alone time.  When you’re the mother of 3 you’ll take it wherever you can get it:  a minute alone in the bathroom, even walking down the hallway alone or any time in the car when sesame street isn’t blaring from the backseat and children are begging for a snack.  Anyway, busy season….it means […]

Today.

2010-10-15T11:43:03-05:00October 15th, 2010|My Family|

Today is “Teagan is asthma free day”

And I want to shout it from the roof tops.

And dance.

And cry tears of joy.

And celebrate.

We kicked asthma’s ass.

All the way to the curb.

We sent something life threatening out of our house, away from our child.

He can breath.

All the time.  Not just sometimes.

He’s stronger.

His future is brighter.

His parents worry less.

No more panic.

No more coughing fits in the middle of the night.

No more steamy showers to open his airways.

No more avoiding triggers.

And we no longer deal with breathing treatments.

Or co-pays.

Or the ER, urgent care, countless doctor visits.

We will soon run errands without a rescue inhaler.

We will unplug the nebulizer and remove it from our living room.

And just now, I trashed the crap we’ve had to […]

1.  I woke up to a rude awakening of toddlers yelling directly into the monitor over who called who stupid at 5:03 am.  Maybe room sharing was a total dream…..sigh.  For the record, it was the duder.  We’re working on ridding his vocabulary of the word “doo-pid” and it makes me crazy.  I don’t like that word at all.  It went something like this:

Taryn:  MAAAAAWWWWM!  Teagan called me stupid!!
Teagan:  No I didn’t!
Taryn:  Yes you did Teagan!
Teagan:  No I didn’t!  Doo-Pid.

5:03 am.  Sigh.

2.  I made homemade, from scratch, banana bread on Monday with the kids only to leave it in the oven too long and burn it.  It smelled soooooo good.  And it was in the shape of little pumpkins.  […]
