this week.

I put my camera down for awhile this week.  Our days were filled with illness, healing, pain, comfort, cranky kids, trips to the park, puppies that chew on ev.ery.thing, carpool and too many hours spent in the kitchen.  I received bad news that arrived as if it were rather good news, because it could have, and possibly should have, been much worse.  I felt horribly sad and vindicated in one surprising moment.  I hugged my children tighter.  I made big changes and faced the fact that my choices change not only who I am, but who they are.  I’ve had to dig deep within myself this week.  It was not easy, but I have succeeded.  And it has been good.

Today, […]

This week has eaten my lunch.  Personally and professionally.  Not in a bad way, it has just been so, so busy and a constant moving from one task to the next yet still feeling behind.  And all I really want right now is to be outside playing.  The weather has been gorgeous.  So when Jason sent me a text about it as I was leaving the gym this morning I suggested since Ty had to stay at school late that we get dinner out (its cheaper without him, ha!) and head to the park with the kids before my session tonight.  I’m so glad we did that because by the time I got home from the gym I was stressed […]

the binky fairy

Alternate title:  Taryn needs to keep her big mouth shut!

Seriously.  Yesterday, for some reason unknown to me, Taryn taught Teagan all about “the binky fairy”.  How she knows about this I have no clue but she convinced him the binky fairy is awesome, she took her binkies (uhm, no she didn’t, Taryn never took binkies).  Really, she told him he’d get a new fun toy.  Shockingly, duder jumped on that wagon.  I say shockingly because he is majorly attached to the bink.  I never dreamed he’d have them at age 3, it’s just not our style to continue use that long, but with him, things were different.  On his tough days he needed them, for comfort, to cope and he […]

Maggie & T

I’ve had this post open on my blog for days….I seem to be behind on everything as we’ve had a few long days for a variety of reasons.  So I’m finally going to hit publish and then go tackle my insane inbox….

My girls.  We tried this when Maggie was “on” and in full on puppy play mode and it just was not working!  Funny, but not working.  So we waited until she fell asleep and then tried again.  Worked like a charm even if she does appear a bit groggy.  Taryn is in love with these.  She’s in love with Maggie and is so very smitten with her.  Taryn is a big reason we decided to get another dog…she’s our […]

It’s a good thing she’s cute.

Oh my word does this dog chew on every.stinkin.thing!  She’s a chewing machine.  We have chew toys for her but she is mischief through and through.  She’s a blast though too.  I was thinking of all the things she’s gotten in to just since Saturday and I’m pretty sure it would be easier to list the things she hasn’t chewed on….sigh.  Right now her favorites are Jason’s robe in the morning.  It totally cracks me up to see him all groggy meandering through the house with the puppy attached to the bottom of his rob in full on playful attack mode.  He just keeps meandering and […]

Maggie Mae sees you!

I told you her paws are enormous!  ha!  Our girl did so good yesterday.  She only fussed for a bit in her crate and then settled in for a good 6 hours of sleep with no accidents at all.  That is a full night of sleep for us so let’s hope that sticks!  The rampage of chewing has continued to a shoe, a slipper, a ball, Jesse the cowgirl, my curtains, Taryn’s backpack, the carpet and I’m sure a slew of other things I’m forgetting.  She managed to get up the back porch steps this morning too.  She was […]
