You know what I love about Teagan…
The way he calls his matchbox cars his “honeys”. I also love it when he tries to say Lightning McQueen’s signature line, “ca-CHOW” and it comes out “a-COW!”. He makes me laugh.

Teagan being in school is such a blessing. The fact that it is even possible, is miraculous for us. He absolutely loves his friends, his class, his teacher, being a part of something. It’s hard to send my baby off, especially with all he’s been through. Two days a week, I can handle….I’m not sure what I’ll do when it turns in to 5 days a week. Truthfully, I’ve been so worried about how he’ll do, the fact that there was a whole lot of good in it for me too, sort of went over my head for awhile. But now I’m sitting in the middle of the benefits and man, they rock!
1. I can go […]
Parenting teenagers is hard. 14 can be painful, for us and for him. It’s a time of self discovery, learning the ways of the world, figuring things out. The challenges are bigger, the lessons stronger, the disappointments more painful. I am thankful for who he is, and all that he’s learning. I’m thankful he doesn’t take everything at face value, that he soaks it all in and forms his own valuable opinions. His views and opinions can be vastly different than many his age, because he’s been through a lot in his first 14 years. I’m proud that he stands up for what he believes, that he embraces his differences, even when it’s difficult. I heard this on the radio […]

I’m struggling with which blog I should post this on, this one, or finding our new normal. I suppose it belongs on both.
Duder is excited. SO excited. About school and especially his Lightning McQueen backpack. I am SO not a character clothing mom. In fact, I cringe each time my kids wear things like this. But by my 3rd kid, I’ve learned to let some of it go and only cringe when they aren’t looking. And Duder asked for a Lightning McQueen backpack every single day for a week. I caved. I’m so weak. What can I say, I have a soft spot in my heart for my little […]
First day of school. A little bittersweet. This summer was amazing. We were focused on family, relaxed, we played and enjoyed one another. It was exactly what we needed after last summer being a trip to hell and back with Teagan’s vaccine reaction. We really did have a wonderful summer and I am going to miss these days so much. I also crave the schedule and structure that school brings. They are ready. I’ll be honest though, I loved having a big block of time where I could breathe easy and know that I was the only one feeding my kids, good, quality, allergy safe, food. School brings a whole other set of worries in that regard and I absolutely […]
1. I am extremely proud of this guy, extremely proud.
2. I am seriously considering doing a weekly challenge on our personal blog. It would involve simple, easy to accomplish things you can do relating to food, your home, toxins, etc. Easy fixes that when you add them up over time, they can have a big impact! If you are interested in joining in, you can follow that blog here and our FB page here. I hope to start it next week.
3. On Tuesday I walked out to the van to drop a few library books on the front seat so I wouldn’t forget them later. When I opened the door the smell of death greeted […]
