quote of the day

2012-07-13T19:41:28-05:00July 13th, 2012|My Family|

By none other than my sweet Miss T over breakfast:

“Well, I’m almost 7 and I’m finally getting used to being around you people.”

Uhm, ok then.

Some day she may find a filter for these gems that travel right out of her mouth without a second thought.  If that happens, I’ll miss them.  She cracks me up.

I have always loved my birthday.  Growing up, having a birthday two days after the 4th of July, I just kind of assumed that the big BBQ, party, fireworks, family, gifts, were all to celebrate my birthday.  My mom’s birthday is on Sunday, so growing up it was always a great time filled with family and food and celebrating.  I will admit I love my birthday a little too much.  Unless I’m pregnant.  I’ve had two birthdays when I’m big and pregnant.  I turned 30 when I was 9 months pregnant with Taryn and now I’m turning 37 with #4 on the way and about to hit the 3rd trimester.  It’s hot, I’m cranky, and instead of celebrating, it just […]

sweetest 15 year old in the history of ever

Earlier this week I hit the grocery store with all three kids.  I had both a watermelon and a pineapple in the cart because last week my friend Heather posted on facebook about how wonderful they are juiced together.  Insert intense pregnant craving here.  I put the watermelon on last at checkout because I’m really trying hard to stick to our grocery budget and pay with cash.  I didn’t want to go over by the time the cashier got to it, so I said never mind on the watermelon and paid.  As we were about to leave Ty said he had to go to the bathroom and he’d meet us out at the car.  Honestly, I was a little annoyed […]

We are keeping with tradition.  It turns out that the last several generations on both sides of our family had one lone girl.  We are all still in a bit of shock, and we’ve known for over a month.  We were convinced this baby was a girl.  Intuition, all the old wives tales, my pregnancy symptoms, the chinese gender chart, the way I am carrying, two different pulse tests said girl, a random old foreign lady at the airport who worked in maternity for years said girl and scowled a firm no when I said boy.  Jason had the ultrasound tech check 3 times, just to be sure.  Poor little guy […]

Bubbles with Ms. T tonight on the back porch before dinner.  I spent over $350 today on Ty for summer football camp registration fees, new cleats, etc.  Ouch!  While at Academy looking for cleats, all my littles cared about was a $2.99 bottle of bubbles.  And they were in heaven with their cheap treasure.  What a difference in cost an age difference of 8-10 years makes.  What is that they say about boys?  The older the boy, the more expensive the toy.  Ain’t that the truth!

first and last days of school 2012

2012-06-01T06:35:55-05:00June 1st, 2012|My Family|

Our annual first and last day of school photos this year.  Wow, a lot of changes, not just in how much they have each sprouted up.  Today is Ty’s very last day of middle school.  It’s hard for me to even comprehend that he’s heading to high school in the fall. Actually, due to football, we’ll be at the high school 4 days a week this summer.  While most are anxious to sleep in, we’ll be getting up at least an hour earlier to make it to football camp so the kids can try to beat the heat this summer for strength and condition / speed camp.  I’m trying to be […]
