My friend Libby came and photographed Jonah at 5 days old.  At the end of the session she was capturing Jonah and Jase, but Jonah was having a *moment* as babies regularly do.  Libby had to leave to go pick up her son and I wasn’t sure if she got any from that portion of our session.  After Jonah was done with his *moment* I decided to take a few, just in case.  I’m so glad I did.  My loves.  I love them.  And of course, Libby totally rocked her shot even though Jonah was done.  You can see it here.

no turkey?!

My little foodie just realized he doesn’t get any turkey this year.  Sorry little buddy, next year, I promise!  HA!

We are actually celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow so that Jason’s family can be here with us.  Our day today has been filled with watching the parade on TV, staying in our jammies, prepping some food for tomorrow, crafts, reading, gameboys, snuggling with Jonah, lots of nursing, a little bit of football and just hanging out with the family.

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  Including all of those who still come by this blog and our little corner on the internet.  Sometimes I feel like blogs are dying as the […]

going cloth | austin baby photographer

Jonah loves the changing table.  Actually, he will fuss the minute he’s wet or needs a diaper change, but the second you take it off, he’s a happy camper, even in the middle of the night.  He rarely cries through a diaper change, which is actually pretty nice.  I realized the other day that I hadn’t taken any photos of Jonah in his cloth diapers.  I will be the first to admit I was pretty intimidated by the idea of cloth diapering, it is very much like learning a new language.  We had hoped to do disposables for the newborn stage, but once I started researching the chemicals in some and […]

I absolutely love the first photo.

I can see him thinking “my boob is over there, but my milk is over here….hmmmm”.  He looks so unsure LOL!  We had to introduce a bottle fairly early on, right at 2 weeks old, to be sure he would take one before I returned to work at 3 weeks old.  This was the first one.  Thankfully he’s done well with the bottle and goes back and forth easily.  I was really worried because my body refused to respond with the pump with Teagan Jude and he was not a fan of bottles.  It worked ok because I didn’t return to working until he was 6 months old and on […]

I’m almost afraid to post this because I’m afraid I’ll jinx it….but…fingers crossed….Jonah is a great sleeper.  A few days ago, Jase looked at me and said “Did our other kids sleep like this?”  To which is replied a loud “NO!”  The other 3 were up every 2, maybe 3 if we were lucky, hours for the first 6 weeksish.  As soon as Jonah hit his birth weight and we no longer had to wake him to eat, he started to sleep in 4 to 6 hour stretches each night.  Some nights he will pull one 3 hour stretch then follow it up with a longer one, but not often.  I […]

Jonah’s first bath

2012-11-18T22:23:02-06:00November 18th, 2012|Jonah, My Family|

My plan was to post photos of Jonah in chronological order but somehow I’ve gotten off track.  I’m going to back up a bit and share photos of his first real bath at one week old.  Technically, I guess his first bath was the day he was born since he was born in the water and then about an hour later he and I took an herbal bath together.  But this was the first time we scrubbed him down after his cord fell off.  My little water baby loved it.  So did the paparazzi, we had lots of helping hands!
