Totally forgot to his publish on this yesterday.  It might have something to do with 3 pending blog posts open on my screen right now…my next blog post will give you a good laugh at my expense!

1.  I’ve been in a funk about sharing and documenting my life here.  I’ve been posting here and here and I need to snap out of it already and get back to using this blog for the intended purpose and show it (and myself and my family) some love.

diy christmas craft

It has been a very simple Christmas at our house.  We’ve cut out a lot of the more toxic aspects (greenery, candles, lights, etc.) which leaves me to get creative when it comes to helping our house feel homey and warm for the holiday.  Instead of greens this year we are utilizing other options and textures.  I made this paper wreath out of coffee filters to replace our normal green one for inside the house.  It took forever, 500 coffee filters and a whole lot of hot glue, but I LOVE it.  After Christmas I’m going to add a pretty letter “T” and hang it over Taryn’s bed.  You can’t tell […]

Erin Cobb made me do it.  She drew me in with her shiny press printed book and talk of real moments and real memories and day to day photos with meaning and simplicity.  I can’t resist any of those things.  Especially since on the day she posted, I had been looking through my strikingly empty personal photo folders.  It hit me.  Hard.  Yes, I have a good reason for not photographing my family all that much this year.  Yes, we were busy, we were struggling, we had dark days.  But you know what, there were shimmers of hope, even on the darkest day and I cannot convince myself that I couldn’t have found one single beautiful moment to […]
