my holiday

It officially feels like Christmas!  Today is Ty’s first day of holiday from school for a fabulous 15 days!!  I love it, having him home, fixing the kids breakfast together, watching them snuggle first thing in the morning and the best part, I get to sleep at least an extra 30-40 minutes a day.  I totally dig that.  An extra thirty minutes to a pregnant woman is like 2 hours to someone else!  LOL!  And no standing out in the driveway waiting on the school bus in the dark, freezing cold.  No homework battles, no folders to sign, no remembering to send in lunch money.  Hmmmm, the way I talk you’d think his time off school was about meeee!  😉 […]

Thank you all SO MUCH for all your wonderful comments for Calla’s birth slideshow!  I can’t even begin to tell you how great it makes me feel that they moved you and to hear the images made you feel like you were there, were moved to tears, or brought you back to your own birth experience, is the best compliment EVER!  Thank you!!!!! And I’ve gotta give props to Anne Marie….I’m sure it’s not easy to allow yourself to be photographed while you are in pain and in such a vulnerable state.  But then to let all of us in blog world share in their experience, that rocks!  Jase and I are still undecided if we will have the birth […]

the birth of calla mae

It was a technical challenge, a room with no windows and two small lights on a dimmer with the occasional spotlight during delivery and in the baby warmer.  I used my speedlight for a few, but tried not to, as it just wasn’t catching the feel of the moment, it was quiet and dark and I hope these images capture that.
