I love the way you say Momma with intensity, with urgency. “Daddy” is calm, “Taryn” is calm, “Ty” is calm, “Momma” is urgent. And loud. And funny.

I love the way you named your blankie “Mae”. You have no idea that Ty’s lovie when he was a baby was a dog named “Freckle Mae The Wonder Dog” or that when Taryn was born she renamed that dog “Mae Mae”. What are the odds you’d choose Mae for your lovie too with no encouragment.

About a week ago I was over reading Jodie Allens blog and found out she was heading to the beach the same time as us. Turns out we were going to be a few hours apart, but worked it out to meet in the middle and swap sessions on the beach. I was thrilled to get to meet her and have her photograph my family! I love her work, she sees beauty in places so many of us overlook. beach bound

So far, we’ve had a big family party, a day of work, a day of rest and today, another day of travel. We packed up the car this morning and drove over to the gulf coast. And even though I managed to get really sick last night and today, I couldn’t be happier to be here. My mom rented a beautiful condo for us right on the water.
