Thinking of Alex | Austin Photographer

With all of this talk of cancer research and MD Anderson and kicking cancer to the curb, Alex has been on my mind a lot.  I know many of you were touched by his family and their story, so I wanted to post an update with his permission.  Alex celebrated his birthday on the 4th and I left him a happy birthday message.  I was so, so sad to hear the news that cancer has spread to his liver and he has started another round of treatment.  I know they can use all the prayers we can possibly send their way as he fights for his life.  So if you are the praying kind, please keep Alex, Danielle, Lexi […]

Giveaway Winners!! | Austin Photographer

Are you sitting down?  You’ll never guess how much we raised.  I’m still in shock over it all.  Shock.  No really, it’s amazing to me that just a few people can spend a little time on a weekend and do something GOOD.  It sure does make all my other weekends feel very unproductive.  Can you imagine what a difference place we would live in if people would just DO something.  Anything!  Use your talent, use your skill, use your time, just DO something.  It feels awesome.  I feel so good that so many people showed up for this event, gave with their hearts and that so many people entered this giveaway.  The number is big.  BIG.

Our grand total…with the

come see me little dude | austin kids photographer

I had to run a few errands this morning and timed it just right for a trip to the park.  We tried out a new one I spotted near one of my client’s home.   Taryn & Teagan had a blast, I’m so glad I had my camera with me.  A shot I never knew I wanted but am now so glad I have it.  New fave!!  I snapped it right after she said “Come see me little dude!”

look who it is!! lucy and her peeps | ausin family photographer

It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 months since Lucy was born.  Her birth produced one of my all time favorite images and introduced me to this amazing, warm, loving family.  I’m so, so glad I got to catch up with them tonight.  Can you even believe how much they’ve grown??

And I have to share an extra one of big brother.  He stole my heart instantly 10 months ago when he sang to his baby sister who was just a few hours old.  Tonight I got to get to know him a bit better and he totally reminds me of someone I know…..blonde hair, big blue eyes, adorable freckles, […]

whoops

Apparently, it’s against the rules to collect funds for a fundraiser / giveaway via paypal.  Who knew?  Not me.  Sooooo, if you still want to make a donation before the mini giveaway tomorrow, please drop me an email and I will send instructions tonight after I get home from a session on how/where to send it in.

Thanks!

photographers need pics too | austin family photographer

I’ve been so blessed since moving to Austin in getting to know so many other wonderful photographers.  I first met Sara through Michele and we all try and go out for a girls night out every few months.  It’s awesome to have people I can talk shop with, run things by and just go out and have a great time.  I cherish their friendship and they definitely help keep me sane!  Sara and I are swapping sessions this year so both of our families can have photos in time for Christmas, photogs need pics with us in them too!!  Rumor has it that it’s been ::: cough cough:::  2 years!!  :::cough cough::: since they had a family photo […]
