anyone up for another marathon post? | austin lifestyle family photographer

Love this family.  Love them.  I love documenting a birth for a family, because it ties me to them.  I cannot believe how much the kids have grown, how big and beautiful Lucy is.  Her birth seems like it just happened yesterday.  So many wonderful things, both professionally and personally have come my way because of these beautiful people….they are all kind and warm and just so genuine.  I love that.  And I refused to pick favorites for their blog post….so get ready….this will be a long one!  First shot of the day…..

us | austin family photographer

I’m on hour 16 right now.  Of work.  No shooting, no proofing, nothing creative.  Therefore it = work.  I wish I could shoot more and spend a lot less time doing the mundane things that being a photographer and business owner also brings to the table (especially during busy season).  16 hours today of sorting, deleting, replying to emails, uploading, downloading, archiving, burning disks, assembling albums, packaging orders, emailing the lab, counting prints, drafting invoices….all the things I must do, to get to do what I want to do…shoot, talk to my clients.  I needed a catch up day, and today was it.  It always make me laugh a little when I hear people say they want to be a […]

limited time offer: 2 mini session openings | austin family photographer lyndsay stradtner

Did you know I offer mini sessions? Yup, sure do!  And not just at Christmas time….I offer them year round.  Perfect for the holidays, Valentines Day, bluebonnet season, a sweetheart session for your anniversary, or a special milestone to fill the gaps between full sessions.  Here is the catch though, my present shooting schedule only allows for me to offer mini sessions to established clients.  What is an established client?  Someone who has already had a full session with me or someone who is also booking a full session.  An example of that would be someone who books a mini maternity and a newborn session at the same time.  Or a mini session for their 6 month old and a […]

a little holiday spirit | austin holiday photographer

Holiday sessions are in full gear and it’s totally putting me in the holiday spirit a little early!  I got to meet up with Miss A tonight.  She’s grown so much since I saw her at this time last year!  We battled the cold and some major wind (but not the rain!  woot!) and won =)

This little beauty’s mommy is none other than the fabulous wedding coordinator extraordinaire behind Something To Celebrate in Austin.  If you’re in the market for a wedding coordinator or event planner, definitely check her out!

Jessica, I can’t wait to show you the rest!  Your beautiful girl threw so many smiles my way I don’t […]

10 on today | austin photographer

1.  It’s not Tuesday, but I’m happy to be blogging.  I’m working a ton of hours right now, busy season is in full force!!  I’m trying so hard this year to blog all my wonderful clients.  Last year a bunch never got blogged.  I’m trying to do better this year 🙂

2.  Taryn went back to school for the first time since August on Monday.  She did amazingly well, we are so proud of her.  Their class Halloween party was held yesterday.  There are 13 kids in her class and only 4 girls including her.  The costume party produced 3 princesses and one buzz lightyear in the girl corner.  She makes me smile and I love that she is who she […]

so worth it | austin pregnancy photographer

I know it can be a total pain in the butt when I ask my clients to get up reallllllly early in the morning in an effort to “catch the good light”.  I always appreciate it when they humor me.  This beautiful couple was more than happy to meet just after dawn as the dad-to-be was headed out for one last camping with the guys weekend before baby comes just as soon as we were done!  Motivation!

I must confess that I thought of this mom-to-be enjoying a quiet weekend with her feet propped up, relaxing, reading when I walked into my crazy house after their session….screaming kids, diapers to be changed, toddlers to wrestle, sippy cups to fill.  I was […]
