10+1 | austin photographer

1.  Yesterday on the way home from preschool Taryn chatted in the backseat about the clouds and the sky.  Then all of a sudden I hear…..”Mommy, I bet God is old, you know, reaaaallllly oooooooooold.”  So I asked her how old she thinks God is and she said “thirty“.  Awesome.  I’m older than God.  And I thought older than dirt was bad.  That’s ok, its not quite as bad as the time when Ty was about her age and asked my Mom what it was like to live when the dinosaurs roamed the earth….bwahahaha!

2.  Another car thing….when we leave our house we have a choice of two entrances to our neighborhood to leave through, one to the right, one to […]

pretty | Austin Baby Photographer

It never fails to shock me when I walk through a front door and greet a happy, chubby 3 month old, when just the other day that same baby was an itty bitty brand new little bundle.  I know I probably gushed over her a little too much, I just couldn’t help myself.  Miss Joan is such a happy girl.  And I absolutely LOVE that if you tell her she’s pretty, she smiles at you!

the birthday party that wasn’t

Teagan hasn’t been feeling well and while we had his birthday party all planned, the cake and balloons ordered and the house all cleaned and ready….it just didn’t happen.  Poor little guy, it is not fun to be sickly on your birthday!  And while we had to forgo the party on the day of with all his friends, Jason’s parents still made the trip up from Corpus to help us celebrate our dude turning two (thanks Grandma & Grandpa!).  And even though the house wasn’t filled with fun toddlers like we’d planned, we still had cake made by the fabulous Humble Pie Desserts in Round Rock (so yummy!), opened gifts and just enjoyed our little dude.

magic is right | austin couples photographer

Michele and I went downtown tonight to photograph the winner of our Helping Hearts for Haiti session.  Michele called the night magic and boy is she right.  These night sessions are truly something special, I think I am getting addicted them.  Seriously, there is just something so challenging, so creative, so romantic about being out with a couple in love after dark that I absolutely love.  And these two showed up ready for anything!!  Aren’t they adorable?!

And I have to give a HUGE thank you to my wonderful clients and owners of Blu who allowed us to raid their amazing venue for awhile tonight.  If you’re in Austin and you’ve […]

us | austin lifestyle photographer

I coerced my dear friend Michele into doing a session at night awhile back.  She and I found babysitters, got all dolled up and took our hubbies out on the town.  It was so much fun for Jase and I to go do something just for us, to get dressed up, and have a real meal without cutting up little pieces, to go cuddle in the dark and be together for while.  We had a blast and the end result just has my heart jumping for joy.  Photos of me and Jase, with the focus on us (NOT the kids)….just us.  Love that.

You can see her […]
