Jason: 2011 Senior Rep – Lehman High School | Austin Senior Portrait Photographer

Jason is the first of my Senior Reps to hit the blog for the Senior Class of 2011.  I’ve been photographing Jason’s family for several years and he’s a great guy.  I know he’s excited about his Senior year at Lehman High School, he has a lot on his plate as Captain of the Cheerleading squad.  His Senior Rep application cracked me up and I knew right away I wanted him to represent Life in Motion Photography!  This was the first installment of his Senior portraits that will happen throughout the year and we hit downtown Austin.  Just a few faves and then a little mini slideshow:

the flip side | austin family photographer

As always, there is a flip side.  The daily reminders of time passing watching my toddler and teenager day to day are hard on this momma’s heart.  But there is more.  So, so much more.

I’ll never forget the day we told Ty that I was expecting Taryn.  The smile on his face, one of the biggest I’d ever seen.  ((Second only to the day we stood by a waterfall in Alabama where Jason proposed.))  I’ll never forget how he waited so intently and so well behaved while I was in a long 23+ hour labor with Taryn.  He kept notes in a notebook and gathered details of […]

break away | austin family photographer

I usually just file the RAW files away in folders after I take photos of my family.  I used to edit most of them within the same month.  And then it got fewer and fewer the busier I got with work, and life, and marriage and motherhood.  I’m a bit sad that I’m at a point that I’m not photographing them nearly as much as I used to.  And very, very few ever receive any love and attention or get shared.  But I’m ok throwing them in a folder labeled “someday when they are grown and I am bored”.  It means I’m spending more time with my family, I’m loving them.  But I have to photograph them.  For them, for […]

life in motion hits the road again | orange beach alabama photographer

I’m so excited to offer some beach sessions this summer!  I normally offer Louisiana mini sessions in Old Town Slidell, but this year my parents moved.  Our summer trip ‘home’ will instead be to their new home in Orange Beach, Alabama.  I’ll miss my Slidell peeps this year, but we just couldn’t work it out to divide the our trip where it fell on a weekend in both places.  We used to visit Orange Beach each summer when I was a kid for vacation and it holds so many memories for me.  We went last year for just a few days after our stay in Slidell and […]

Belen | Leander Newborn Photographer

A few more from the session that resulted in one of my all time favorite newborn photos….

I still can’t believe we got it, it happened so fast, I really hope they blow it up big!  Belen gave me just a few frames, in the most perfect light, before starting to fuss.  Thankfully, those few frames worked out!  I normally try to photograph newborns in the early part of the day, but she was a rock star on this evening.  We had to work for it but she gave me wonderful little blips of eye contact and sleep just when the light was perfection.  I’m so thankful for her understanding, calm, soothing […]

10 on Tuesday | Austin Family Photographer

1.  I feel like I’ve been living in a box tethered to my computer for the last month.  This past weekend cured that.  And I needed it more than even I realized.  I’ve been chasing kids all day then logging on and working 12 hours.  It’s catching up with me fast.  Friday Jason’s parents came for a visit because they had a wedding to attend out on Lake Travis.  It was perfect timing too because they were able to keep the kids Friday night while Jason and I went to see Conan O’Brien live in Austin.  And while our seats suuuuuuucked, the show and Conan were ah-ma-zing.  Seriously loved him, he was hilarious.  My favorite part is that the […]
