Happy.

Happy.  It is the first word that comes to my mind when I see this family, their warm smiles, the love that they have for the place where they are right now, a busy life with toddlers.  I just love it.  I’ve been lucky enough to photograph them several times over the last 3 years.  We didn’t know it at the time but Megan and Teagan were born just one day a part just a few rooms apart.  M, I can’t believe our “babies” are turning 3 but I really, really can’t believe how fast Ryan’s first year flew by!  I feel so lucky to have photographed him as a newborn and at 6 months old….I think back through the […]

Jane turns 4

I’ve been following her sister around for the last year as a baby planner so I’ve gotten to see Jane a lot this year.  her momma booked a session just for her to celebrate her 4th birthday in June and I simply could not believe how much she’s grown and changed in one short year.  It was her 3rd birthday the first time I met this wonderful family and I’m excited to have her 5th birthday session already on the books.  Jane is so beautiful, so bright and boy oh boy is she fast!  She keeps me moving!  I love that we always get shots of Jane reading, she loves books so much and is an excellent reader….

In the spirit of catching up.

Another session from way back in September.  If there is anything that stands out about busy season 2010 it is that it was the year of reschedules.  And not in a bad way, but a this is comical it is happening so many times it is getting funny, kind of way.  My poor calendar was used and abused!  Everything from my clients getting sick to little ones taking a fall and having a banged up chin to client husbands being called out of town to the rain (x10) and wind and just about anything else you can imagine.  It was a roll with the punches kind of busy season and I managed to smile through it all and it all […]

Rewind….

It is finally time to start playing catch up around here and I couldn’t be more excited to go digging through all the folders from a very busy fall season.  This is the first year in five that I haven’t been able to “share as I shoot” and it’s been hard to drop folders in to be blogged drive and move on, but there just weren’t enough hours in the day.  I have a ton of sessions to share and just pulled this one out of the stack from way back in September.  LOVE this session.  Jen is beyond stylish and knew she wanted to go Urban Chic for their shoot.  Urban Chic speaks to me big time and it […]

diy christmas craft

It has been a very simple Christmas at our house.  We’ve cut out a lot of the more toxic aspects (greenery, candles, lights, etc.) which leaves me to get creative when it comes to helping our house feel homey and warm for the holiday.  Instead of greens this year we are utilizing other options and textures.  I made this paper wreath out of coffee filters to replace our normal green one for inside the house.  It took forever, 500 coffee filters and a whole lot of hot glue, but I LOVE it.  After Christmas I’m going to add a pretty letter “T” and hang it over Taryn’s bed.  You can’t tell […]
