I had SO much fun with this family this morning. I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with a lot of new siblings and I cant easily say this big sister is *beyond* thrilled her new baby sister has arrived. Taryn’s gift.

My mom was able to come visit for 5 whole days during the week of Taryn’s birthday. We were all so thrilled to have her here. We decided that this year we’d forgo all the big birthday parties for the kids and just take each one to do something special on their special day. Taryn turns 6…

My baby girl is really, really not a baby anymore. I can’t believe 6 years have gone by. What a wild ride it has been. Fun, exasperating, challenging, fun, did I say fun? She’s this crazy mix of a kid, warm, loving, snuggly. Painfully shy, yet bold. Funny, yet reserved. Above all, she is very, very soft hearted. She loves animals more than anything in the world, she always has. She’s just like her daddy in that way, and he’s just like his grandpa. We all predict she’ll be a tree hugger who changes the world some day. She loves to think up ways to reuse things, loves the earth, digging in the dirt, being outside, soaking up the sun. […]

I love it when I photograph a newborn, then a few years later, another little one arrives and I get to go back. Families grow and change so incredibly quickly and it is such an honor to be invited in to soak in all the details and photograph these sweet first moments for my amazing clients.
