6 new sessions open!

So I’ve been waiting to see how Teagan does in school to do this and I have great news – he’s doing AWESOME!  He loves it so much.  There are many blessings to having 2 days a week where all 3 of my children are in school and one of them is that I’ll be able to take on a few more sessions this fall.  I’m opening up 6 new sessions between now and November.  A few mini sessions and a few signature sessions – all are sure to go quick – if you think you might want one just drop me an email at lstradtner@mac.com and I’ll send you all the details!

And since I can’t post without a photo….Miss […]

jane turns 5

It seems like yesterday that I met Jane for the first time to celebrate her 3rd birthday.  And here she is, 5 years old, a whole hand!  It’s been such an honor to photograph Jane and her family for the last two years.  Watching this family grow and capturing the girls has been one of the highlights of my career.  I am a super lucky girl to get to photograph her birthday party next weekend too!  Rumor has it her momma throws quite the party!

I first met Trent & Amanda 18 months ago when they had me photograph Annslee’s birth.  I was honored to be asked to photograph the birth of their second daughter as well.  One of the first things Amanda mentioned to me today is that when other people talk to her about forgetting parts of your birth that she hasn’t had that experience because she has the photos from her first birth to help her remember and bring her right back to that day.  Hearing that made my heart sing, that’s why I love birth photography….the images don’t fade even when our memory does.  There were so many beautiful moments tucked in […]

waiting on elvis.

It seems like just yesterday I met this wonderful family but it’s been a few years already!  I photographed the birth of their daughter, Izzy and I was beyond thrilled when they contacted me to photograph the birth of their 3rd child as well.  The kids have grown SO much, just wait till you see them!!  I love it that they call the new baby Elvis, even though they don’t know if it is a boy or a girl!  Elvis is an awesome name for the kids to pick, trust me, I know, my daughter used to call Teagan “couch” when I was pregnant with him LOL!  Just a few […]

Dear Teacher

Parenting teenagers is hard.  14 can be painful, for us and for him.  It’s a time of self discovery, learning the ways of the world, figuring things out.  The challenges are bigger, the lessons stronger, the disappointments more painful.  I am thankful for who he is, and all that he’s learning.  I’m thankful he doesn’t take everything at face value, that he soaks it all in and forms his own valuable opinions.  His views and opinions can be vastly different than many his age, because he’s been through a lot in his first 14 years.  I’m proud that he stands up for what he believes, that he embraces his differences, even when it’s difficult.  I heard this on the radio […]

Another milestone. But it’s really all about the backpack.

I’m struggling with which blog I should post this on, this one, or finding our new normal.  I suppose it belongs on both.

Duder is excited.  SO excited.  About school and especially his Lightning McQueen backpack.  I am SO not a character clothing mom.  In fact, I cringe each time my kids wear things like this.  But by my 3rd kid, I’ve learned to let some of it go and only cringe when they aren’t looking.  And Duder asked for a Lightning McQueen backpack every single day for a week.  I caved.  I’m so weak.  What can I say, I have a soft spot in my heart for my little […]
