A whole hand, Jane turns 5
I’ve been photographing Jane for two years now. Time has passed so quickly. I love that Jennifer and Jim book a session for each of their girls to celebrate their individual birthdays. I get to photograph them each spring as a family as well, but it’s so great to focus on each beautiful girl for their special day. This year, Jennifer asked if I would photograph their birthday parties as well. I don’t normally do birthday parties but I didn’t give it a second thought and jumped at the chance. I’m so glad I did, I had a blast!!

There are so many things I love about this birth experience….
I loved that as the family reminisced about their first birth experience, I could remember right along with them since I was there to capture it. Forming bonds with families is so amazing.
I loved big sister hiding behind the curtains and her daddy chasing her out.
I loved big sister cuddling with momma and her baby belly.
I loved mom’s big tear at the moment of birth.

happy maternity and family photos
When they got out of the car I could not believe how big the kids had gotten! I guess that is to be expected since I haven’t seen them since the birth of their daughter. I absolutely love they nicknamed the baby Elvis (not knowing the gender). “Elvis” is a boy, who has since arrived and I just sent off their birth slideshow yesterday. just as they are
My photographer friend Wendi and her family are a blast to be around. I photographed them in downtown Austin last winter and we had a lot of fun. When Wendi heard I was traveling to Houston (where they live) and that I’d opened up a session while there, she grabbed it. She knew she wanted to capture her family in their own environment, just as they are. She’s a photographer and takes wonderful photos of her family, but she wanted to be included in these too. This sweet little family booked their holiday session for this year last fall. A few months after that I got an email asking if they could swap the holiday session for a newborn session!
