a natural | austin child and family photographer

Some of my sweet clients purchased a mother’s day mini for his sister and her little girls!  I love the gift of photos and I loved meeting them this morning.  And while I should post a photo of momma with her girls for their sneak peek, I just can’t get past the beauty in this image.  This is the first time they have been professionally photographed and Abby was a bit unsure about it all when they first arrived.  It didn’t take long at all to warm up and realize photos are fun!  By the time we were done, Ms. Abby was a natural.

chicken, cashew cheese and veggie pasta | real food | iphoneography

This pregnancy has been hard in that it is making me crave foods I no longer eat.  Like Olive Garden.  You know how when you are pregnant and you see a food, you instantly want it.  No, neeeeed it.  It is all you can think about until that craving is satisfied.  Yeah, that is me right now.  The cravings have been for Olive Garden and waffles, both of which I don’t eat anymore.  It is soooo frustrating at times.  So I decided to throw something together the other night that might curb my Olive Garden craving for awhile.  It worked too!  Add in a big Olive Garden like salad complete with onions and olives and a vinaigrette and I’m good […]

gooey walnut apple side dish | real food | iphoneography

I’ve been posting some iphone photos of food we eat on my facebook and a few people asked for recipes.  A lot of what we eat I just throw together, so I thought I would come share a bit about what we eat every now and then.  We are gluten, dairy (most of us – a few of us consume raw dairy only) and soy free.  We eat organic food, avoid GMO’s and juice fresh foods regularly.  We try to eat a wide variety of nutrient dense foods daily.  Last night, Jase was off at a political rally and since I can’t handle touching raw meat while pregnant, Ty made us grass fed, organic beef meatballs with marinara and I […]

2 minutes with T… | Austin Child Photographer

Ever wonder what it’s like to spend 2 minutes with Miss T?  This pretty much covers it.  This kid, man, she keeps me hopping.  I’ve always said she lacks a filter from her brain to her face, you never have to guess what this one is thinking.  And boy are those wheels always turning.  I don’t remember what she was doing, but she came in our room first thing one morning, I wasn’t awake yet and whatever it was she wanted felt demanding and over the top.  I looked at Jase after she bounded out of the room and said “Good Lord, it must be exhausting to be T….” and he […]

1.  I’m feeling human again.  Thank you 2nd trimester for being kind.  I shouldn’t complain though, this is the first pregnancy that I haven’t been horribly sick for months on end.  All I really have to complain about is the exhaustion.  I’m thankful to have enough energy to actually be productive during the day AND stay up past 7 pm.  My husband is very thankful for this.  He’s been covering me with house duty, kid duty, dinner duty, etc. for months now.  Thank God for good nutrition, it kept me from being sick.  Truly, food is so amazing.

2.  As predicted, the first trimester destroyed my daily image taking and 365 project.  I’ve barely picked up my camera except for work.  […]
