Jonah captured by Libby Ann Photography

My friend Libby of Libby Ann Photography came out to capture Jonah at a tiny 5 days old.  We had a tough time scheduling.  Time was very limited, Taryn was massively uncooperative and y’all, Libby rocked it with all the challenges that are photographers children and a fussy baby at the end.  It’s not easy photographing a photographer’s family and I’m so very thankful for each and every image she captured for us.  I think she did a beautiful job.

That first image up there….it’s brought me to tears more than once.  It’s a beautiful capture of my two sweet boys, but it’s so much […]

10 on Tuesday from the Trenches

1.  Y’all.  I’m tired.  Really tired.  Four kids is no joke.  I feel good, but sooooo tired.  Most nights I’m sitting in the big white chair in my living room with heavy eyelids before the kids are even thinking of going to bed.  I’m ashamed to admit how many times I’ve missed tucking them in to bed because I’ve already fallen asleep by the time their heads hit their pillows in the last few weeks.  Last night, I gave up the fight to stay awake, I grabbed Duder at 8:01 pm and we went to snuggle in my bed knowing full well I wasn’t getting back up to be productive.  Good thing I did, Jonah had a rough night at […]

my loves | austin baby photographer

My friend Libby came and photographed Jonah at 5 days old.  At the end of the session she was capturing Jonah and Jase, but Jonah was having a *moment* as babies regularly do.  Libby had to leave to go pick up her son and I wasn’t sure if she got any from that portion of our session.  After Jonah was done with his *moment* I decided to take a few, just in case.  I’m so glad I did.  My loves.  I love them.  And of course, Libby totally rocked her shot even though Jonah was done.  You can see it here.

One my favorite families in all of Austin, gorgeous light downtown, sweet kiddos, on a cool, crisp morning?  Yes please!  Can you believe it has been 1 year since this little man was born?!  I had to go back and look at his 6 month session too…look at the difference in his hair, I’m loving those curly locks he’s currently rocking!  Happy birthday big boy!

no turkey?!

My little foodie just realized he doesn’t get any turkey this year.  Sorry little buddy, next year, I promise!  HA!

We are actually celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow so that Jason’s family can be here with us.  Our day today has been filled with watching the parade on TV, staying in our jammies, prepping some food for tomorrow, crafts, reading, gameboys, snuggling with Jonah, lots of nursing, a little bit of football and just hanging out with the family.

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  Including all of those who still come by this blog and our little corner on the internet.  Sometimes I feel like blogs are dying as the […]

going cloth | austin baby photographer

Jonah loves the changing table.  Actually, he will fuss the minute he’s wet or needs a diaper change, but the second you take it off, he’s a happy camper, even in the middle of the night.  He rarely cries through a diaper change, which is actually pretty nice.  I realized the other day that I hadn’t taken any photos of Jonah in his cloth diapers.  I will be the first to admit I was pretty intimidated by the idea of cloth diapering, it is very much like learning a new language.  We had hoped to do disposables for the newborn stage, but once I started researching the chemicals in some and […]
