this week.

I put my camera down for awhile this week.  Our days were filled with illness, healing, pain, comfort, cranky kids, trips to the park, puppies that chew on ev.ery.thing, carpool and too many hours spent in the kitchen.  I received bad news that arrived as if it were rather good news, because it could have, and possibly should have, been much worse.  I felt horribly sad and vindicated in one surprising moment.  I hugged my children tighter.  I made big changes and faced the fact that my choices change not only who I am, but who they are.  I’ve had to dig deep within myself this week.  It was not easy, but I have succeeded.  And it has been good.

If Joan was going to eventually get the sweet wisps of red curls and sure enough, they have appeared since the last time I saw them.  I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning than frolicking around a bluebonnet field with one of my favorite families.  The girls did so fantastic and were just so very sweet together.  I have proof….

Soooo many favorites from this session.  I love that I’ve gotten to know the girls so well over the last year+ that our sessions are just so easy and relaxed.  Watching families grow rocks.

I had a long span of newborn boys and just recently the girls have been making a comeback.  Miss Amelia is such a sweet little one, loves to snuggle, beautiful dark hair, sweet little lips, big beautiful eyes.  I learned quickly she is calmed by the presence of her daddy, so sweet.  Congratulations again Aimee & Jonathan, thank you for the honor of capturing another beautiful moment in your lives.

This little man showed up ready to play, pose AND smile!  Can’t ask for more than that!  I was especially impressed by his mad yoga skills and downward facing dog 😉  ha!  Yeah, he was super cute and a little charmer.

This week has eaten my lunch.  Personally and professionally.  Not in a bad way, it has just been so, so busy and a constant moving from one task to the next yet still feeling behind.  And all I really want right now is to be outside playing.  The weather has been gorgeous.  So when Jason sent me a text about it as I was leaving the gym this morning I suggested since Ty had to stay at school late that we get dinner out (its cheaper without him, ha!) and head to the park with the kids before my session tonight.  I’m so glad we did that because by the time I got home from the gym I was stressed […]

breaking my streak

Since moving our business to Austin I have had quite a few sets of twins in front of my camera.  Oddly enough, all of them boy/boy.  But not any more, team girl/boy is in the house tonight! Charles was a total ham, even flirting with the ladies shooting just a few paces over from us.  Little miss wasn’t a huge fan of the itchy little bluebonnets and I don’t blame her, I came home a little itchy too.  I had a hunch if I just waited her out she’d give in to all my crazy noise making and antics if even for just a minute.  Thankfully my hunch was right…

Kristi, it […]
