When they got out of the car I could not believe how big the kids had gotten! I guess that is to be expected since I haven’t seen them since the birth of their daughter. My photographer friend Wendi and her family are a blast to be around. I photographed them in downtown Austin last winter and we had a lot of fun. When Wendi heard I was traveling to Houston (where they live) and that I’d opened up a session while there, she grabbed it. She knew she wanted to capture her family in their own environment, just as they are. She’s a photographer and takes wonderful photos of her family, but she wanted to be included in these too. This sweet little family booked their holiday session for this year last fall. A few months after that I got an email asking if they could swap the holiday session for a newborn session! When Jennifer asked me to photograph the girls birthday parties this year, I was thrilled. She throws amazing parties and it was SO much fun! Joan had a ball theme and she used circles and balls everywhere. Right down to the coaches that came to play ball with the kids, the bubble machine and the huge ball pit. Even my hubby and kids got in on the fun this time. I’ll admit I laughed when I looked everywhere for Jase and couldn’t find him because he was in the ball pit with the kids. FUN! That is the first word that comes to mind as I sit down and write this blog post. I won’t lie, holding a charity event, in the middle of my most busy time for work, feels a little crazy at times. Especially right before when everything needs to be done and just right. My little buddy has grown so much since last year! Hanging out with this fam is one of my favorite things to do each fall. Our time together is always so relaxed and well, just, easy. I love that! We all laid in the grass, visiting, chatting, and oh yeah, we took a few pictures too 😉
