I first met this family when they were expecting James and their maternity/newborn photos from that time are still some of my faves. So much has changed since then, they moved and are expecting another baby, all in a short period of time. I remember running in to Michelle at a homeschool park day and she she shared she was pregnant again. I was so excited for them!! Wait until you meet Opal, she’s just precious.
I was so lucky in 2014 to connect with so many wonderful families. I didn’t blog mini sessions in 2014, mostly due to time constraints on my end, but I just couldn’t file some of these purchased images away without sharing them first. It made my heart happy to see these 3 again. I first met Danielle, Lexi and Austin in 2009 when I photographed them in downtown Austin along with Alex as part of a charity session. If you have been around here for awhile, you’ll remember Alex, his slideshow has made the rounds through the years. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer 4 years ago. While we’ve kept in touch from time to time over email and facebook, I haven’t seen Danielle and the kids since Alex’s services. This family has changed so much since the last time I saw them. I photographed big brother as a newborn and was so excited when they contacted me to book a baby plan since they were expecting again! And their newest addition had chins and cheeks that are just to die for. I had to resist the urge to ask for an extra baby snuggle at the end of their session.
I’ve been photographing this family for quite a few years now. Getting to catch up with them is always a highlight of my year. This year, we had a few challenges, the weather was yuck and drizzly and honestly, the kids were just not in to it that day. Thankfully, we were at their home and I could just stick around for awhile and capture the kids as they are, very low pressure. We worked it out and the end results are something I really love. This little beauty has had a journey earth side and at 3 months old is home from the NICU and thriving. I was warned in advance that she is super cute and very expressive! And boy did that prove to be true!! She was so good for her session and threw so many great expressions my way. They made sure to tell me they hoped there gallery would have all her expressions, not just the smiles and grins. Her moms are just in love with her and it shows in every way.
