Have you ever thought about what a boring, mundane (yet clean) place this world would be without kids?  Kids are awesome….

Love it.  Love my job.

Stay tuned this weekend and coming up week, this place is going to be hoppin’…..a beautiful family all the way from Arkansas, this little one decided to cuddle with his parents a little early and I have 3 mini maternity sessions, hello Austin baby boom!

Be warned, this is a marathon post filled with snapshots, color casts, out of focus images and just everyday stuff.  But it’s also filled with love, so I can overlook the rest, hope you can too.

Today was good.  Today I put work down.  I let the house go.  I enjoyed the most simple of pleasures with my kids and….it was good.  Really good.  My husband was grouchy today (what is there to be grouchy about dude?).  The kids were crazy.  Excited.  Wired.  Fun.  And even though the house got trashed, there are piles of wet clothes and sneakers and socks and mittens by the front door, the stack of dishes and crap piled up on the counters in the kitchen […]

Laura and Tim are in the fight of their lives.  Every day.  They are fighting to save their son.  Working, looking, praying for a cure for Duchenne.  Sadly, there are thousands of other families, just like them, who have a son with Duchenne, fighting the same battle.  They are fighting time.  And my heart aches for them.

Duchenne is fatal.

There is no cure.

But there is hope.

I knew from the moment I was asked to photograph this family that they would change me.  I knew I’d learn a lot about Duchenne, something I knew very little about.  I knew I’d come home and hug my children tighter, appreciate the smaller moments a little more.  I knew I’d cry proofing their photos.  More […]
