About a week ago I was over reading Jodie Allens blog and found out she was heading to the beach the same time as us.  Turns out we were going to be a few hours apart, but worked it out to meet in the middle and swap sessions on the beach.  I was thrilled to get to meet her and have her photograph my family!  I love her work, she sees beauty in places so many of us overlook.  It about killed me to have her photograph my family and not have one of her “love light” sessions just for me and Jase….I’ve wanted one for.ev.er.  But today was the day we met up.  I was still feeling a […]

1. Teagan weaned.  All on his own.  Cold turkey.  A week ago Friday.  I’m sad.  And proud.  I can look at him right now and say, I grew that.  Look what I did.  And I’m proud of that.  But I miss it.  Horribly.  Probably doesn’t help that since he went cold turkey that I’m in a lot of pain.  Thanks little dude.  If y’all hear about a cow exploding just north of Austin, no worries, it’s just me.  Seriously though, tough time, end of an era.  I’m trying to focus on the positives…like getting my thyroid rechecked and under control.  It’s still all out of whack from having Taryn and I refused to take the necessary meds while pg or […]

I met MC not long after moving to Austin.  We quickly became friends and I began to mentor her and help her with her photography journey.  And by mentor, I mean hang out and goof off with our cameras.  But there hasn’t been very much mentoring going on.  Life is busy, especially at their house.  Not long after this session, MC and Jon announced they were expecting baby #2, thrilling news!  Just a few short weeks later Jon was diagnosed with cancer.  They are a strong and faithful family and after a few days of shock and tears, came out swingin ready to fight.  They rolled with what the coming days would bring them, dealing with chemo, a surgery […]

As I finish up their order I wanted to come back and share a few more of Miss Inara’s first birthday session.  You can see her sneak peek here.  I’m going to start off this post with my favorite of the day….

She’s grown so much since I saw her last.  I just can’t get over how much babies change that first year, it’s crazy!  Some of my most favorite shots ever are the ones from her 6 month session loving on her momma.  That is one thing that has not changed.

I absolutely love in-home, true lifestyle sessions.  And this is one of my all time favorites.  In fact, when I went in to pull images to blog from their session it was 27, yikes!  Awesome family, filled with love and laughter, gracious enough to share a glimpse into their world with little old me….

I photographed the birth of this beautiful little one just a few months ago….

Little miss was sleeping when I got there and I was so happy to catch these moments of her momma gathering her up […]
