I thought I’d come share a few photos that resulted from the fundraiser that Michele and I did to raise funds for Haiti. These two lovebirds are clients of Michele’s who entered the giveaway to have a session with both of us in downtown Austin after dark. They showed up ready to have some fun and I think we all had a blast, I know I did!! I do hope that Michele will share some of hers too, cause, well, they rock! I had so much fun shooting with her and I hope I get to do it again sometime soon. And thank you to all those who donated and helped us raise $2400!

I had a maternity session scheduled for tonight to capture a cute little baby bump. I still met up with this beautiful family, but they were photographed a little differently than initially planned for today!

Out of all the mommy/baby photos I’ve captured, yeah, that one goes in right toward the top of the list. Love it. Pure joy!

I was so excited about my mini maternity session tonight with Christy & Dominic. Christy and Jase used to work together and she was a big part of getting my family over here to Austin, so I was super excited to meet her!

Christy & Dominic, thank you for enduring the cold and wind tonight, you were troopers! I hope you like your sneak peek and I’ll see you (3!) in a few weeks!!

Be warned, this is a marathon post filled with snapshots, color casts, out of focus images and just everyday stuff. But it’s also filled with love, so I can overlook the rest, hope you can too.

Today was good. Today I put work down. I let the house go. I enjoyed the most simple of pleasures with my kids and….it was good. Really good. Laura and Tim are in the fight of their lives. Every day. They are fighting to save their son. Working, looking, praying for a cure for Duchenne. Sadly, there are thousands of other families, just like them, who have a son with Duchenne, fighting the same battle. They are fighting time. And my heart aches for them.

Duchenne is fatal.

There is no cure.

But there is hope.

I knew from the moment I was asked to photograph this family that they would change me. I knew I’d learn a lot about Duchenne, something I knew very little about.
