We hear this at least 20 times a day.  No exaggeration. It’s not the sound of a bark, it’s the word “bark”.  This has been going on for at least 6 months, probably longer.  Her imagination and the ways she uses being a dog, never cease to amaze me, she’s a smart cookie doggie.

Anyway, yesterday, I had plans to take Ty and Taryn off shopping while Jase stayed home with Teagan so he could nap.  Ty decided not to go, which suprised me.  When Taryn and I got back, we found out why.  He built our little doggie a dog house.  How sweet is he?!  Gosh I just love him.

1.  Yesterday was a wonderful day for me personally and professionally.  Hearing so many comments, getting wonderful emails, but most of all, reading Michele’s wonderful words that brought me to tears.  Very cool.  Can I just tell y’all one more time how very much I love what I do?

2.  We’re a bunch of sickies.  Everyone but Ty.  Well, and Taryn is at about 80%….just in time for both Jase and I to be sick and Teagan to be teething and sick.  Sigh.  I will be honest though.  I prayed and prayed and prayed my husband wouldn’t get sick.  I begged God that if someone had to get sick, please, please, please let it be me and not him.  Yeah, […]

I will be unreachable here shortly.  I will be photographing a birth either tonight or tomorrow meaning I will be away from my computer / email and cell phone.  If you need to reach me, please call and leave a message or drop me an email and I’ll catch up with you as soon as I can.  I just know that there are a few outstanding orders and I didn’t want you to think I disappeared or anything 🙂  I am so super excited to photograph another birth, each one is so different, so amazing, so real.

In the meantime….here is another shot from my session with my 3 the other day.  The oldest and the middle….8 years apart but so […]

to be in her arms. . . . .

this little one has an amazing birth story, they barely made it to the hospital on time.  what a crazy, wonderful experience all rolled in to one, i can only imagine.  he sure does look cozy in her arms doesn’t he?  can’t really blame him then for being in such a hurry.  during her maternity shoot, I captured this shot, one of my favorite all time momma shots, but gosh I love this one too.  I think it’s just knowing what a graceful, kind, soft spoken mother she is.  Congratulations again K family, it was such a joy to photograph your […]

Anne Oliver: A lesson in backlighting

I don’t know about you guys, but when I first started to learn how to use my camera, I was scared of the sun.  Scared.  As in only go out on cloudy days or find very large patches of shade, kind of scared.  But there is a whole world out there that I was missing, silhouettes, sun flare and backlighting.  It took some time, some research and a ton of practice to start getting it right.  I love the sun now, being able to use it to your benefit is powerful, especially for a pro.  I get lots of questions about how I shoot backlit photos, and since y’all know I’m not the best teacher, I thought I’d ask someone […]
