Austin Area OBGYN Display | Austin Photographer

I am so excited to come share this.  Several months ago I was asked to do a photo display at the new offices of Austin Area OBGYN at North Austin Medical Center.  After months of planning, measuring, design, having them select the images (I wanted them to choose since they have to look at them all day, every day), and then printing, the first round is finally going up.  Jase stopped by there this morning to hang the first 3 (of 20+) and snapped a few iphone pics.  The first one is the shot of Teagan and Jase for their blood pressure station (would that lower your bp??).  The second shot of Calla is over one of the nurses stations.  They are 24×36 and 30×40 respectively.  There is another 20×20 birth photo in an exam room but I’ll wait until the rest of those birth photos go up to post the finished room display.  Round 2 will be coming very soon!!

If you are a patient there, be sure to pick up one of my cards and you’ll receive a special discount on both portrait and/or birth photography!

Exciting stuff!  I’m thrilled to see it come together and so honored they asked me to do a display!  And thanks to my husband for hanging it all up and rockin’ those level skills!

1.  I am pacing our house right now waiting for ty to get home and tell me all about his day with MICHAEL PHELPS.  Yes, you read that right!  Crazy huh?!?  Ty was one of a handful of kids that were chosen to meet the olympic champion.  How freaking cool is that?!?!  I SO wanted to go and bring my camera, but they said no.  Something about a media release agreement or something or other.  Blah, Blah, Blah, Boo….Ty was psyched and I can’t wait to hear all about it!

2.  Little T is on her way back.  It’s been a tough road, and she’s not there yet.  But she will be soon.  We’re all pretty happy about that.

3.  Do you like surprises?  I do.  At least the fun kind.  I usually try to throw in a fun little surprise into each package I send my clients.  I like to change things up every so often, so you never know what fun little extra will appear in your package from me.  From now until Christmas each client will receive 2 of these keychains with images from their session.  Just cause.

Fun little extras rock!

4.  Speaking of fun stuff…..Head on over and check out Jodie’s post on the Fresh Art blog today.  You’ll find all kinds of fun craft stuff to do with your kids and a photo I took that she blew up on canvas for her office.  Love it all.

5.  I absolutely LOVE this concept of a bubble wrap calendar.  My fear is that my children will have popped them all on January 1 by 9:42 am.

6.  Our coffee maker when kaput a few weeks ago.  Not good timing since a) it’s busy season and I need caffeine and b)  my patience needs an extra little kick each day to deal with a certain sickie with a smile.  Jase had his eye on a Krups machine awhile back so he went ahead and ordered it using our bank rewards card points.  Problem….lord only knows how long it will take to get here.  One of the special little kups arrived this week but fat lot of good that does a caffeine deprived momma.  So instead I’ve been making almost daily trips to starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte.  mmmmmmm.  so good.  but not for my wallet.  I could have drove across 5 states, picked up the stupid new Krups machine, drove back and still spent less money.

7.  I wish we would have done this in Teagan’s room.  Who knew it was so easy and so stylish to make your own toddler bed?  And for $75 for 2!  Can’t beat that.

8.  I’m about to buy a new lens.  I just need to figure out which one….

9.  The 2nd Annual Life in Motion Photography Halloween fundraiser is just around the corner.  I am super excited about it!  Last year, we went small and still raised a lot of funds for a good cause.  This year, MC and I are going bigger!  Much, much bigger and I couldn’t be more thrilled about both seeing so many kids in cute costumes and donating a big old chuck of cash to cancer research.  MC lined up 50 families this year (crazy!!!).  All the spots filled up fast and we couldn’t be more thrilled.  If you like cute kids in cute costumes, stay tuned, there is about to be an abundance of that around here!!!

10.  I’m off to catch up on some email.  I’m too far behind!  Again!!

product highlight | custom designed image boxes | austin birth photographer

Image boxes are hands down my favorite product.  When they land on my door step I run to tear open the package because I just can’t wait to have it in my hands and ohhhhh and ahhhhh over it.  They are substantial and sturdy and just oh so gorgeous.  I’ve been doing these for my birth clients this year and I’ve been meaning to come share some photos for awhile.  Image boxes are custom designed for each birth client and can include the birth date, birth stats, name as well as customizable text down the spine.  And if the gorgeous box wasn’t enough, when you open it up, all the birth proofs sit perfectly inside, complete with a ribbon for easy print removal and magnetic closure.

The perfect keepsake to remember your child’s birth day.  If you’d like more information on birth photography packages and pricing, please contact me at [email protected] or visit my birth photography website “The Birth Experience” at

**Portrait clients:  Watch your email around the first of the year for an entire new product line including these image boxes that can be purchased in lieu of a traditional album when you purchase all the images from your session.**

10 on Tuesday | austin photographer

1.  I celebrated my 34th birthday yesterday.  It was a nice day, relaxed with my family, got a ton of wonderful birthday wishes, phone calls from loved ones, fun birthday mail and a nice dinner out with my favorite people in the world.  Oh, and even a few new toys for my camera!  All in all, a good day.

2.  When i asked Taryn how old she thought I was, I about fell over when she said “FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN”.  Wow, I knew it was a loaded question but sheesh!

3.  My mom’s birthday is tomorrow, Happy Birthday Eve Mom!!!

4.  I think the most awesome of all the gifts I received was from Taryn.  She drew me a great big picture of she and I riding on a roller coaster.  The best part though, at the bottom, there was a picture of our dog Kylie taking a poop.  Nice.

5.  Teagan’s crib is still up.  Niether Jase or I can seem to make ourselves take it down.  I did one last little photo shoot with him in his crib and got a ton of shots.  Here is just one….

6.  I only pulled one because I am sooo far behind on proofing right now.  I took some time off this weekend for the holiday, my birthday and the birth of baby Jack.  But now it’s time to dive in and get a bunch of stuff done, lots of sharing to come.

7.  I promised to come back and share images of the new custom letters I will be offering to clients.  I LOVE the way they turned out, I’m not very good at product photography, but in person these are soooo cute!

Clients, if you’d like more information, just drop me an email at [email protected]!

8.  I’m seriously considering offering a VERY limited number of client sessions when we head to Louisiana in August.  If you think you might be interested, let me know.  I haven’t decided how many yet since we’ll be on vacation and at the beach part of the time, but contact me if you think you might want one!

9.  One of the reasons we’re going to the beach is to see my mom and step dad’s new house they are building.  I am so excited to see it.  It’s been a dream realized for them and I can’t wait to see it in person instead of just photos.  Their porch is bigger than our entire house!!  I have a feeling the photos she’s been sending me don’t do it justice.  I’m sad they will be moving out of the house I mostly grew up in, but excited for them to move into their dream home at the beach.

10.  I’ve hit #10 and drew a blank.  I think it’s time to get off the computer and out of my jammies, the kiddos are itchin to go to the pool!

Happy Tuesday!

new product | austin photographer lyndsay stradtner

Over the course of the next month I will be adding new products and specialty items available to Life in Motion Photography clients.  I am really excited about the items I’ve gathered so far and thought I’d come share just this one today.  I was over checking out Kim’s blog not too long ago and saw these cute custom wall letters.  Thanks Kim for letting me share your idea with my clients!  The possibilities are endless, I can edit the colors, fonts, text, etc.  I love first names, but using your last name or spelling out “family” or “love” or “brothers”…..there are just so many options!

I ordered these as samples this morning and will share photos of them when they come in.  Each image/letter is a 5×10 print mounted to styrene and sprayed for durability.  No frame necessary.  You can lean them on a shelf or even velcroe them to the wall.

Clients, if you’d like to purchase a set of custom letter prints from a previous session, feel free to contact me at [email protected] for details and pricing!

new product! and a sale! | austin texas photographer

Ok, well, not really a new product, because I already sell storyboards, but a new way to display them!  I’ve always mounted storyboards on foam core, but wow, look at this…..

I LOVE this!  It is substantial, heavy, ready to hang and GORGEOUS.  I want to fill my house with them!  It’s always been a challenge to frame a storyboard, the frame choices for a 10×20 or 12×12 are out there, but they are limited.  These gallery mounts eliminate the need for a frame and they come in several different finishes around the beveled edge.  As shown above, you can do a creative crop on just one image to really make a statement or I can design a custom storyboard to fit your needs.  The possibilities are endless.

Now on to the sale part, if you are a previous client of Life in Motion Photography and you’d like to order a gallery mount to add to your collection, email me at [email protected] and you’ll receive 50% off, through MONDAY, JANUARY 26TH ONLY.
