2020 Fulltime RV Travel Highlights from our 3rd year on the road. 2020 was challenging for so many reasons. We started off on a high note with Jason taking a new (really great and fully remote) job enabling us to get back on the road and travel. Then illness, quarantine and the pandemic hit. We are so thankful we just happened to be parked at my mom’s house in Alabama when the world closed down. While quarantine wasn’t easy, it provided some precious time to slow down and make memories. When it was time for us to get back on the road we we changed and simplified our itinerary, spent even more time in nature, skipped our usual museums, etc. […]
We celebrated our 3rd anniversary on the road! This is what traveling full time REALLY looks like! It’s still life with little kids, dinner to be made, toddler tantrums, potty training, laundry, laughter, grocery stores, hiking, dancing, tears, exhaustion, joy and everything in between. But it is ALSO the road trip of a lifetime, incredible views and experiences. When we started traveling fulltime we started filming for our channel but I also used an app called 1 Second A Day to capture our everyday lives and adventures, 1 second at a time, every single day. Putting them all together is like a huge real life reel for us and I just love it so much!
The drive on Sunday from Ridgway State Park to Breckinridge was incredible! Going through Gunnison Canyon left us all breathless from the beauty. And very excited that we get to go back and spend next week there. This photo was taken at the entrance to our campground in Dillon and we instantly fell in love with this area! We are in a very rustic campground – Lowry Campground in Dillon, Colorado – for a few days (electric 30 amp only, no water or sewer) and these views are totally worth it!!
Before we left Texas we packed up all the boys toys. We are moving really fast, every 3 days, to get where we need to be before Jason’s first day on the new job. And we are just tired of picking them up all the time. Zachary is in a phase where he drags everything out and throws things everywhere. No toys has been glorious! For several reasons….first less to clean. Second, they are spending more time with our bin of books and reading. Third, we have seen so much more imaginative play happening. Their newest game is trying out for American Idol. One of the 3 boys sits […]
It’s that time! Back to roadschool! We work on a different schedule than the typical school system. It works for us. And we are SO ready! It was a nice long 4 month break. Everyone is excited and motivated – that helps a lot! This year we started Jonah on the same online program as the big kids and he absolutely loves it! I’m relieved to get us started and in a routine before Jason’s first day at his new job.
