little treasures

I normally don’t blog mini sessions beyond the initial sneak peek but I was cleaning off my hard drive and doing some ordering and archiving tonight and decided to pull a few little treasures to share.   The last one may seem like a funny choice to share, but it pulls at my heart for a different reason.  This was the last shot of the day, last photo of this beautiful family as a four (about to be five!).  Truth be told, I had already put my camera away and it was packed in my bag.  I said goodbye and about half way down the walk way to my van when I […]

All the pieces had to fall just right for this quick little session Tuesday night.  First and foremost, this momma had to fend off early labor and bedrest and get this baby to stay put just a bit longer.  She did it and I was still really nervous that I wouldn’t be able to catch a few maternity photos of her before their baby arrived.  Monday was her her goal and I hightailed it out there Tuesday evening about 3 seconds after Jason walked in the door from work.  And don’t you know it rained the entire way there, I got there, no rain, we got some great shots, I got in my car and not 1/2 a mile from […]

It was a lot of fun to surprise this momma and so fun to photograph this family….I loved every.single.second of it.  The good news is, she not only forgave me for the lie I told her but she’s also quickly filling up my “happy” file folder in my inbox with kind words and wonderful, thoughtful emails.  Em, thank you for making me feel so good about what I do!

Now to the pics!  Little miss and I are very close friends now, just ask her, she’ll tell ya 😉  I love love love getting emails from her momma about her funny little conversations about our time together.

And this little guy, one […]

The Dealing for Duchenne event last night was a-mazing.  I’ll be back to blog about it this week, but wow, we’re still letting it all sink in, amazing.

In the meantime, we are taking off with my mom and the kids to the San Antonio Zoo, their other surprise!  Taryn’s dream comes true today….my girl is an animal love through and through.  After we told her about where we would be going I gave her a map I had printed out of the zoo, she’s already formed out game plan!!

And I can’t leave without posting a few photos.  LOVED this session!  So much so that I’ll be back to share just about the entire gallery this week!!

I did a bad thing | Cedar Park Children’s Photographer

I did a bad thing.

But….it was in the name of love.  So that makes it ok.  At least I hope so.

I lied to my client.

One of my favorite clients.  One that I adore.

I did a maternity and newborn session with them last year.  And Emily had contacted me about doing another session with their family.  I was literally, moments away from emailing her back when my phone rang.  It was her husband….he had an idea….a plan.  Five minutes later and we would have missed the opportunity to form a plan.  He wanted to surprise Emily with a session for Valentines Day.  He’d been putting her off when she would bring up doing another session with his plan in mind.  But […]
