hey crazy lady, i don’t see anything in there | austin family photographer

I don’t know if I’m super tired from a crazy long week or what….but this totally gave me a case of the giggles tonight.  I had to come share.  One of the tricks we photographers use to get kids to look into the black box of torture is by telling them there is something interesting in there.  I’ve used everything from princesses to elmo to candy to airplanes to, well….whatever.  And it usually works at least once to get some good eye contact.  But every now and then I catch one of these “what the heck crazy lady, i don’t see nothin’ in there!” looks.  All you photographers out there know what I’m talking about, you get them too…..

Just a quick little sneak peek of the beautiful Miss Meghan from our early session this morning.  You know what’s crazy??  Meghan is just a day older than Teagan, born in the same hospital, right down the hall.  Isn’t it crazy how small and how big this world is all at the same time?  I mean….what are the odds?!

Thanks for meeting up with me this morning guys, it was fun!!

I have so much more to blog about, I feel very behind in my blogging efforts, today was an insanely busy day though….so I’ll have to come back and share more soon….

I thought I’d take a quick break from proofing to come share the shots from one of my Slidell mini sessions with Brandi and her adorable family.

Brandi is a photographer located in Picayune, Mississippi, not too far from Slidell.  I was thrilled when she booked, she’s like me and always on the other side of the lens, but we photogs need (and want!) pics with our families too!

I love shooting in Old Town Slidell….although it is always a bit weird to see it during the day since I mostly hung out at the bar strip at night in my much (much) […]

I got to go hang out with little miss Inara this morning and capture her birthday photos.  The last time I saw her she was 6 months old and oh my goodness she has grown and changed so much!!  She’s so tall and her hair has gone from red to a little more blond.  But she still very much the same happy little girl…..

Silly goose!  And she had all sorts of new tricks to show me, clapping, waving, and let’s not forget walking!!

And not just walking, but running too.  She’s pretty fast!  I was super impressed!  Happy Birthday big girl!

The other night when MC and her family came out for a round of family photos, I greated Jack through the car door.  He lit up and said “take my pi-churs?”.  When I said yes he lit up again, tucked his little chin in and looked up at me with his big pretty eyes and said “I smile for yew”….ah, the cuteness.  So just he and I ran over to the field while MC and Jon got baby Tommy out of the car.  Just a few quick resulting snaps of my happy, camera lovin’ little buddy….

He also said he thought I was pretty.  I think I have a crush on him.  […]

kick up your feet | austin family photographer

I absolutely loved this session, and when I went in to pick which photos to share here on the blog, I couldn’t narrow my faves down.  So kick up your feet and get ready for a long post!  Little Miss A is such a beauty.  Her momma warned me that she’d be a bit shy for the camera so when I got to the location, we took it slow.  I sat down and showed her my camera, she even helped me take a photo.  I also came armed with stickers and bubbles and puppets.  I don’t blame kids sometimes for being apprehensive about being photographed.  You go to the park, meet this new person carrying this big black box and […]
