We tried. We tried to love Atlantic City. But it was rough, y’all. I can honestly say it’s one of the few places we’ve been in the last 3 plus years that we did not feel safe. We quickly rode the wheel at the Steel Pier and left. Thankfully, we have other areas of New Jersey to explore during our stay – come on Jersey – help us love you!

You can take the Jitney and go to the Botgata Casino the shops are stunning, the Tropicana has a shopping mall. It is a shame that surrounding areas over the decades have not been rehabbed.
Sounds pretty racist
There’s an element of danger in most cities let alone ones that survive due mainly to the attraction and money big time gambling brings in. You been to Vegas? The trick to steering clear of it is sticking to the family oriented venues. I’m not from A.C but am currently residing here and I find it a very interesting and at times a very picturesque place. Hang in there a little longer if you ever happen to return.
Please put boots on the ground on the boardwalk. It’s not safe and it’s getting worse. Even during the day
Who comes up with this bullshit… I don’t know who’s trying to ruin the city’s name with weirdos like the ” Normal Guy” disrespecting the integrity of my city…
Fucking
Clowns!!!!!!!
Didn’t feel safe? I feel sorry for you. There’s much worse places in NJ. I’ve been to Atlantic City, many times alone, and not once did I feel unsafe, even waking the boardwalk and beach at 3am.
What made you not feel safe? There are officers patrolling the boardwalk.
What made you feel unsafe?
Reasearch your destination before you go ac boardwalk / casino is a adult atmosphere. Really come on visitors know you destination. I mean there more kids in your family then rides on that pier. Within 30 minutes north you have wonderful boardwalks and rides and children atmospreres along with 30mins south you have wildwood another family destination with 3 piers and about a 100 rides which you could not do them all in a day theres that much family stuff to do. Come on “visitors” know where you are going its like wheres next ” camdem playground” or Chicago escape room get realistic. I had to stick up for my backyard im a 30 yr old man who travels from capemay weekly to the hardrock and ocean ect. And literally shack my head at the unedjucated parents walking there children around bums people smoking marijuana on the boardwalk and now since new law drinking on the boardwalk. Not a crowd for children at all unless your literally looking for a lawsuit or a problem.
Really? What happened and be specific? This seems like smear campaign.
F—- You we don’t care if you love us. New Jersey is already the most densely populated state in the country. Many parts of the state are beautiful and we have alot to offer. Being sandwiched between Philly and NYC offers excellent employment opportunities. Many Canadian’s travel hundreds
of miles to vacation on our spectacular beaches. So if you don’t love N.J. we will be ok. Go home.
AC is not safe. Has not been safe off the boardwalk for years. Now it is not safe outside the casino buildings. Blame the local government. Born and raised there. Will always be home. Just one I wont ever visit again
We as a family go to AC,it can be a bit sketchy at night and even in the daytime with the chud for lack of a better word prowling the boardwalk. That said there usually is a fair amount of police presence. What I dont get is the casinos should have security outside their entrances and they dont. That alone would keep the chud away from many of the patrons and give you a feeling of safety.
