With the exception of taking long walks around the neighborhood on Saturday to get labor moving I hadn’t been out of the house since then. So Monday I was feeling a bit cooped up. We decided that it was the perfect time for an outing and we still needed pumpkins for the kids to carve before Halloween. I was quickly reminded about how scary it is to put your precious new baby in a moving car. I resisted the urge to yell at all the crazy, wreckless drivers that were going over 30 mph. You know, even though I really wanted to yell “Don’t you know I have a newborn in this car?!” out the window in crazy new mom fashion. It was a short but sweet trip. The kids picked out a bunch of pumpkins, Jonah slept through 80% of it in the sling and we came home. I absolutely LOVE the snapshot of Taryn smelling the top of his head. It was a spontaneous moment and I love it so much because I do that 1000x a day. There is just something about the way new babies smell. Yum.

Nicki - Lyndsay – many congratulations on Jonah’s arrival. Your children have grown so, Ty especially.

And you have such a wonderful husband and beautiful, kind children! I learn so much about the kind of parent I want to be more like when reading your blog. P.S. Ty looks like such a young man now!
