Ah! I just realized I forgot to blog Bowen’s birthday session….and I just finished up his 18 month gallery….oops! This first year went by in a flash. He’s wasn’t so sure about his cake (neither was his sister when she turned one). But thankfully, big sister was more than willing to help having some previous experience and all! Big sister perk for sure lol!
I love photographing in home sessions, especially when it involves the precious first days of bringing your new baby home. The space instantly changes, it’s a home in a new way, the love and memories are at the very beginning and there’s something really sacred and beautiful about being invited in to that space.
Sweet little Jay is already 9 months old. He was sooooo happy for his session this morning. The bottom black and white was an instant fave. I’m totally in love with the way he lights up looking at his momma.
So, what was supposed to be a short 2 month maternity leave for me had to turn in to a 5 month long maternity leave. Healing and recovery has been long but I am slowly returning to work again. This little dreamy guy – I mean really – could he be any cuter?! The Texas heat can be brutal, even at 7 am, but he did so great! Happy half birthday sweet baby Jay!
I’ve been incredibly blessed to get to photograph the birth of each of these beautiful children. And while a lot of us had boy vibes at the birth, it was still such a fun surprise to see a boy enter their family! He is quite the squish, weighing in at over 10 lbs. I was super excited that they asked me to do their newborn session as well and oh my goodness, this chubby baby boy was so fun to photograph. He’s absolutely adored by every single person in their family and I hope their gallery reflects just how much he’s loved.
I knew it was going to be a great session with the very first photos were smiley. This family has the best smiles! Big brother and sister were just the sweetest with their new baby brother. They loved on him so much and it was so sweet to see.
I’m warning you now. If you scroll down, you’ll be smacked with cuteness! These boys are SO ADORABLE! I can’t even handle it! The bow ties, the smiles, I can hear the laughs through the photos. Just….the best!!
Isn’t he just the cutest with his sweet little smile and red hair?! As much as we photographers focus on sleepy babies, I love it when newborns are this alert….he just loved the camera so much!
Hello, I’m new here. Zachary at 10 days new 😉
I can’t believe it’s been a week already. Why are these early days so long when they go by so quickly? My mom bought this amazing blanket for Zachary and I absolutely love it. It’s so soft! I’m really glad I took this photo when I did because that night his cord stump got stuck in his sleeper zipper and it popped off. A little before it was ready and I felt so bad when he let out a little whimper. Ugh, mommy guilt. I’m sorry buddy!
We had a really hard time choosing a name for our little guy. We didn’t make a final decision until just a few weeks before he was born. We usually try to pick something earlier but it was hard this time. I wanted to name him earlier to help with bonding after our 3 losses. But we just couldn’t come up with one we all loved (or even that just Jason and I both loved and let the kids deal lol). And then Zachary came along. I love the meaning: God has remembered. He has not forgotten us in our desire to grow our family amidst so much loss. He has not foresaken us. He has remembered. John is after Jason’s grandpa that we lost last year. We wanted to honor him and it just fit so well with the first name because it means “God is gracious”. Jason’s grandma was so pleased to hear the name and that makes us both so happy.
Right after the photo above I needed to change my little guys diaper. Taryn came along to try to calm him and snuck in a few head smells for good measure. She just loves the way he smells and will stop what she’s doing (note pencil in hand lol) to sneak one in 😉
Mr. L has the most perfect little pout. And smile. And wardrobe. His little man clothes are killing me! So very cute! We were hoping he’d dive in to his cake, but he just wasn’t feeling it. He’s so cute though, it all worked out! Ha!
As much as I really love photographing 6 month old babies, 9 month old babies are right up there too! Those chubby cheeks and open mouth big kisses are just the best!
